REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Generator — 2.3L Duratec-HE (MI4)
Removal
NOTE:Removal steps in this procedure may
contain installation details.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to:Battery Disconnect (414-01 Battery,
Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to:Accessory Drive Belt - 2.3L Duratec-HE
(MI4) (303-05 Accessory Drive, Removal and
Installation).
3. Install a new generator electrical connector nut
cover.
Torque: 8 Nm

Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Torque: 48 Nm

4. Raise and support the vehicle.
Refer to:Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting,
Description and Operation).
5. NOTE:Install all the bolts finger tight before final
tightening.
1. Torque: 8 Nm
2. Torque: 48 Nm
3. Install a new generator electrical connector
nut cover.
