Speak Your Gratitude

Anytime you start a new habit or start to dream again, there will be negative thoughts
that try to stop you.
Stinkin’ thinkin’.
Let’s take those thoughts captive and renew our minds with gratitude today.
Write out a statement of gratitude as related to your writing. Or use one of the
statements in this PDF.
Try to choose something specific that relates to the negative thoughts you’ve been
having. You know what they are
For example: “Thank you, Lord, for giving me the time to write every day” or “Thank you,
God, for using my writing for Your Kingdom.”
Then, speak your gratitude out loud.
Do it.
Declare it.
And do it with a SMILE on your face.
Even if you don’t feel it.
Do this often enough until you start to feel different.
Our words matter, especially the words we speak out loud.

 45 Gratitude Statements for Writers

These are gratitude statements written by participants from previous Writing Week
challenges. Choose any statements that resonate with you and rewrite them as needed
for your situation.

Thank You Lord that my words matter. As I write help me to think Your words not mine
as I write.

I'm grateful for the talent God gave me to write, and His far greater gift - instilling in me
the passion to hone this talent into a mighty skill. With God all things are possible.
Without Him...not so much, so I am also, of course, grateful to Him for the blessings He
continues to shower down upon my life.

Thank you Lord for this opportunity to write. Thank you for helping overcome challenges
to bless others. I’m grateful you have selected and guided me to explore writing and
sharing what you place on my heart. I’m extremely grateful I can call on you Lord any
time of day! Thank you for showing me my ideas are not always your plan, but birthing
exploration in my heart to seek more of what you have for me to do.

Thank you Lord for using my writing to bring people to you.

Thank you Lord for this season of life where you've given me the freedom to do what I
love! Thank you for giving me words to speak, and pray, and write. Thank you for your
gifts of creativity and the incredible joy I feel when I get to share your truth.

Thank you, Lord, for all that You are doing in my life right now. And for giving me new
opportunities for writing.

I am grateful that I have the opportunity to write and pursue the dream I’ve had all my
life.

Yes! Thank you Lord that by the power of your Holy Spirit you have given me eyes to
see, ears to hear and a mind to know! That I can translate all that to paper to
encourage, empower and release others with my/your words to bring heaven to earth
and cause transformation all for your glory! My words and books will set me before
great men and women!

Thank you Abba Daddy that you’ve opened my eyes to see that I am YOUR pen. Also
Thank you for opening my ears to hear you speak the words you want to say to those
who will be reading them in the books I will publish soon.

I am grateful that I value the desires of my heart and I take time to step into them every
day.

I am thankful for the opportunity to write and the ability to use my voice.

Thank you Lord for helping me appreciate life's experiences; good, bad, or ugly.

I’m thankful for the time I get to spend in God’s presence everyday just listening to Him.
I’m grateful for this opportunity to focus and put down my testimony on paper. What a
blessing!! Thank you.

I am grateful for time to write and for the reminders of God’s goodness as I wrote stories
about things he has done in our lives in the past knowing he never changes.

Thank you God for giving me the courage to push through and create new paths for my
life.

Thank you God that you motivated me to pick up the manuscript again.

Thank you God for helping me to finish this book this year!

I am grateful for the daily progress of healing.

Thank you, Lord, for touching my heart and opening my mind with new ideas and
creativity.

Thank you God for allowing & aiding me in fulfilling a dream; with the publishing of my
first volume of a book series. Please USE me to be of benefit to your creation. Amen.

I am grateful to God for nudging me to write again. I’m also thankful that He will help me
stay consistent and diligent.

Thank you God for this precious gift and skill of writing. Please use me, as Mother
Teresa said, as “a little pencil in the hand of God” for Your glory. Use my speaking and
writing in this world as You will for Jesus’ glory and to encourage & inspire others.

I want to thank God for cultivating this creativity in my calling & for allowing my pain to
be used for God’s glorious purpose!

Thank you Lord for the spark of creativity you have place in my heart. I will continue to
move forward as You use my hand as your pen so that others may be inspired to know
You!

Thank you, God, for believing in me when I don't believe in myself.

Father God, thank you for giving me joy in learning something new

I am thankful that today when a negative thought comes to mind, I remember to focus
on the Lord and not the thoughts of the enemy.

Thank You God that you love me as I am. You will never turn away from me. I feel safe
and secure to write with You, while You are urging me on to discover the joy of writing
everyday.

I am thankful for the gift of writing.

Thank you Father, for the gift of writing. Thank you for providing the time to write.

Thank you Father for timely messages. Thank you for encouraging my heart. Thank you
for reminding me that I have what it takes. Thank you for helping me to do what you put
on my heart to do.

Father God thank you for investing creative potential in me. Show me more about how
the gifts you have given to me (some of which are Hidden But Yet Seen) might glorify
you as I fulfill your creative purpose(s) invested in me.

Thank You, Lord for the progress I'm making! Thank You, Holy Spirit for the rich words,
powerful sentences and enlightening paragraphs that flow through me as You and I
write together. Thank You for a finished book that will bless many!

Thank you Lord for communication that ministers to children!

Thank you God for giving me the words to write, for filling my mind with the memories &
for the courage to do this!!!

Jesus, I am so grateful, You have chosen me from before time! You paid such an
extravagant price to rescue me from all the lies, self doubt & obstacles designed to
defeat me! Incomprehensible! I am now able to live your victorious dream for me in
every aspect of my life! I will broadcast Your love through words, spoken & written and
through images captured & created, with lavish thankfulness.

I am thankful for the opportunity to write and share the gospel with people around the
world.

Thank-you, God, for the creativity you've given me and your favor that covers me (Ps.
5:12 ESV).

I’m so thankful that, when I face a wall, I can come to Jesus and ask Him for strategy.

Thank you Lord that my story matters. Thank you Holy Spirit for going before me, and
speaking through me. Thank you Lord for the call you've placed on my life and for giving
me the strength to share it for the sake of others healing and wholeness. All for your
glory. Amen.

Today I am thankful my tests are becoming testimonies.

Today I am thankful the Lord blessed me to be a blessing.

Lord I thank You that You Who began a good work in my writing will see it to
completion!

Lord I thank You that I am not small, I am well equipped and I will succeed!!

Thank you, Lord, for giving me the discipline to write every day. Help me to keep this up
