1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Principles of Entrepreneurship (ENT530) is a required course for all students who wish to pursue
a bachelor's degree at UiTM. According to its definition, "entrepreneurial education" is an organized
curriculum created to give students the information and abilities they need to comprehend market
demands, consumer insights, and company prospects. Networking abilities, idea invention, business

students with the information they need to navigate the future of entrepreneurship.

In this session, students will choose one of several types of businesses, whether small or large,

professionalism, problem solving and structure when starting a business. Additionally, entrepreneurship
seeks to teach us how to acquire knowledge, skills, and insight that allows us to clearly comprehend how
that original and original idea is implemented. It is well known that a person's business often starts from

5
his original thought. From a small idea, it may blossom and grow into something bigger and great, which
can benefit not only the business owner but also the consumer.

An entrepreneur plays an important role in being the basis for the success of the country's
economic development. Nonetheless, entrepreneurship requires a great deal of work and experience
and is not something that can be accomplished quickly. In the future, many issues will surely arise when
one is involved in entrepreneurship. You may educate others and yourself with this entrepreneurship
expertise. This case study must be completed for that reason.

Finally, entrepreneurship encourages students to be better at self-discipline and avoid risky

calculations. Through this training, they become more open to use opportunities and acquire enhanced
skills for organizational management. We cannot imagine entrepreneurs only as financial contributors,
but also as figures who help society by increasing employment rates and improving infrastructure in the
future.

6
In January 2021, Taska Permata Elit was put into operation. This business was centered at
Saujana Rawang, Rawang Selangor. The interesting thing is the owner says how she had an idea to
start this business because she wanted to help the parents who have a difficulty to arrange their kids to
go to school and also she got to know that the parents do not want to have a babysitter at home because
they do not trust them. The owner also say that since the business was operated in the middle of the
covid most of them work from home so the owner look at the media social saying that is hard to the work
from home went their kids was with them, so the owner was it was good idea to open the business in the
middle of the covid so the parents can send their children so they can do their work

2.2 Organizational Structure

Figure 2.0 : Organizational chart employee

There are six distinct organizational structures within Taska Permata Elit's company. The first one
was Nik Hasratni Binti Ismail, the founder. The marketing manager was Abdul Hamid, and the financial
manager was her sister, Nik Hasanatun. Three teachers are also employed by this organization: Nur
Naziehah, Nur Fatin Fadlina, who taught at the Taska Permata Elit, and Nor Haslinda, who also acts as a
supervisor.

7
2.3 Services

Child care services were provided by Taska Permata Elit to working parents who had no
other option. The children are taught the Quran by this organization in addition to receiving child care,
which seems to be a means of preparing them for school. Teachers will teach the kids at this school
self-care skills like how to clothe themselves. Additionally, the company has kid-friendly items available.

Figure 3.0 : Quran lesson

They will start studying about the Quran at the very beginning of the procedure. When the
children have completed the Iqra, the owner will reward them with an Al-Quran and offer them
encouragement.

Figure 3.1 : Kids doing activities on their own

Self-care skills came next, when the children learned how to take care of themselves,
including how to drain themselves and bathe independently. The teacher also taught them how to be
decent people. It is courteous in different ways. For example, how to respectfully ask the teacher for
assistance when they are having difficulties or are unable to accomplish it on their own.

8
Figure 3.2 : Solat hajat session

Additionally, the proprietor did something special by cooking a dessert to give to the
parents on the day of Ramadan. The owner will do it three days a week, though not every day. In
addition to celebrating the children's birthdays each month, the owner will join the parents in celebrating
Hari Raya. At the conclusion of the year, the proprietor also performs a "Solat Hajat."

2.4 Business, Marketing, Operational Strategy

Business strategy

Taska Permata Elit's business strategy effectively leverages digital platforms like
WhatsApp and Facebook to promote its services, alongside traditional methods such as banners.
However, enhancing its digital marketing efforts could significantly improve reach and engagement.
Adding an Instagram account tailored to younger, tech-savvy parents, as well as maintaining a
more structured posting schedule, can further boost visibility. The current word-of-mouth approach
is effective but could be amplified through referral programs that reward existing clients for bringing
in new customers.

Marketing strategy

The strategy of keeping a single registration fee and monthly overtime charges is
customer-friendly and helps maintain affordability. To improve this further, Taska Permata Elit could
introduce flexible payment plans or package deals, such as discounts for siblings or prepaid annual
plans, to provide additional convenience for parents. These options could encourage long-term
commitments from clients while also ensuring steady cash flow for the business.

9
The owner of Taska also implemented a marketing plan in which she provides parents
with a Quran lesson so that their children can learn the Quran before or after school. The parents
approved this method since they claim it makes their lives easier because they don’t have to look
for another location to send their children to learn the Quran. According to the owner of this
establishment, children ages three and four will attend the playschool before starting school at age
five.

Operational strategy

This company operated from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parents can choose to ask to visit
their children before 7:00 a.m., though. At 7:00 a.m., the kids will arrive for a Quranic lesson, and
at 8:30 a.m., they will eat breakfast. Following breakfast, kids will have circle time, which will
involve a nature walk, at approximately 9:00 a.m.At 10:30 a.m., the three and four-year-olds will go
to class to receive their education. The child will use their senses to learn. They will then have a
break period from 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. after playing from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The kids will
have tea time at 4:30 p.m., but they often come home between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

3.1 Business Model Canvas

Figure 4.0 : Business Model Canvas

10
3.1.1 Customer Segment

Taska Permata Elit caters to clients seeking nursery services that offer a comfortable learning
environment focused on early childhood education while nurturing religious values from a young age.
The services include essential childcare needs such as meals and bathtimes. Additionally, the nursery
provides a structured syllabus for children to follow and includes Al-Quran studies, a popular choice
among clients.

Their primary customers are married couples who lead busy work lives and require a trusted,
safe environment for their children. Situated within a residential area, Taska Permata Elit conveniently
meets the local community’s need for reliable childcare services. The nursery is committed to providing
exceptional care for children during their formative years while equipping them with a strong foundation
in early education.

3.1.2 Value Propositions

Clients’ decision to opt for your business and services over rivals is based on your unique best
sell proposition. The business offers a comprehensive range of products and services aimed at meeting
the diverse needs of both children and their parents. These include providing engaging toys that
stimulate play and creativity, a well-structured educational curriculum to support early learning, a
healthy food menu that promotes physical well-being, and Quran lessons to nurture spiritual
development. By integrating these elements, the business ensures that children receive holistic care
and education in a supportive environment.

A key aspect of the value delivered to customers is the inclusion of Quran lessons, which cater
to the religious and cultural priorities of many families. Additionally, the business prioritizes safety and
hygiene, creating a clean and secure environment that gives parents peace of mind. To further enhance
the value offered, the nursery provides structured learning modules along with a student progress book,
enabling parents to track their child’s academic and developmental milestones effectively.

The business addresses two major needs of its customers: the provision of religious education
through Quran lessons and the convenience of saving time for busy parents by taking on the
responsibility of educating and caring for their children. Furthermore, it solves the problem faced by
parents who lack support from family or relatives in caring for their young ones, offering a reliable and

11
nurturing alternative. Through these efforts, the business positions itself as a trusted partner for parents
seeking quality childcare and education while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and values.

3.1.3 Channels

In the context of entrepreneurship, channels refer to the various methods a business or

entrepreneur uses to engage with stakeholders, deliver value to customers, and offer its products or
services. These methods can be either digital or physical, serving as a bridge to establish and maintain a
connection between the business and its audience.

Taska Permata Elit primarily reaches its target customers through social media platforms, with a
strong focus on Facebook, and through word-of-mouth recommendations. These channels have been
carefully chosen to align with customer preferences for trust and accessibility. Currently, the business
leverages Facebook to promote its services and relies on the positive experiences of satisfied customers
to encourage organic sharing and recommendations.

The integration of these channels is seamless, as Facebook serves as a digital platform for
showcasing the business while word-of-mouth spreads the message through personal connections.
Among the available channels, word-of-mouth has proven to be the most effective due to trust and
credibility that personal recommendations provide. It is also the most cost-efficient channel, as it does
not require financial investment but rather relies on the genuine satisfaction of existing customers.

To further integrate these channels into the routines of customers, the business actively
encourages satisfied clients to share their positive experiences both online and offline. By making the
business a natural part of their conversations and interactions, it strengthens customer engagement and
fosters a sense of community, enhancing both visibility and trust.

3.1.4 Customer Relationships

In entrepreneurship, customer relationships involve managing and nurturing interactions with

clients to enhance their satisfaction and build loyalty. Customer relationships in Taska Permata Elit focus
on two key areas: child treatment and the parent-teacher connection. First, the business ensures that
children are treated with care and attention, providing a nurturing environment that supports their growth
and well-being. This relationship is vital in fostering trust with parents, who want to know their children

12
are in good hands. Secondly, the business prioritizes maintaining open and transparent communication
with parents, establishing a strong parent-teacher connection. This allows for regular updates on the
child’s progress and the opportunity to address any concerns or feedback. By cultivating both of these
relationships, the business strengthens customer satisfaction, fosters loyalty, and solidifies its reputation
as a trusted child care provider.

3.1.5 Revenue Streams

Revenue streams refer to the various ways a business generates income. In the case of Taska
Permata Elit, its primary revenue comes from providing childcare services, supplemented by additional
offerings. The main source of income is the monthly childcare fees, which vary depending on the child’s
age group. These fees represent their core service-based revenue. In addition to monthly fees, the
business charges one-time registration fees and annual fees, which are paid at the time of enrollment
and then on a yearly basis. This demonstrates the business’s strategy of combining one-time payments
with recurring fees to sustain its income.

Further revenue is generated through optional services, such as Al-Quran studies, fundamental
skills training, and overtime charges. While these services are offered separately, most parents choose
to add Al-Quran studies and fundamental skills training for their children, ensuring they complete the
syllabus while enhancing their Quranic reading and learning skills. Overtime charges are applied when
parents pick up their children late. While this incurs an extra cost, it offers parents peace of mind,
knowing their children are safe and well-cared for by the staff. This arrangement benefits both parties,
providing convenience and safety for the parents while allowing the business to earn additional income.

3.1.6 Key Resources

Key resources refer to the essential assets that a business needs in order to function effectively
and deliver its value proposition to customers. These resources are crucial for sustaining operations,
achieving business goals, and maintaining a competitive edge. For Taska Permata Elit, key resources
include strong support from the local neighborhood, which helps build trust and contributes to the
nursery’s positive reputation. Additionally, the business’s good financial health plays a vital role in
supporting growth and ensuring its ability to reinvest in necessary resources.

13
The business also relies on key intangible resources such as the annual celebrations of children’s
birthdays and the Solat Hajat event, which strengthen its community bonds and foster deeper
relationships with parents. Another important resource is the annual Hari Raya celebration, which brings
families together and enhances customer loyalty. These events contribute not only to the business’s
social capital but also to the overall sense of community that Taska Permata Elit nurtures. All these
resources are integral to the nursery’s operations and long-term success.

3.1.7 Key Activities

Key activities are essential tasks that a business must perform to ensure smooth operations and
deliver its value propositions to customers. These activities are even more specific than general business
operations, as they directly support the core offerings that the business promises to deliver. As explained
by (Oakley), key activities are the crucial actions that a company needs to undertake in order to fulfill its
value propositions and meet customer expectations effectively. They are integral to the overall success
of the business and can significantly impact its ability to remain competitive and efficient in the market.

Taska Permata Elit, a thriving child care business, has carefully structured its key activities to
support both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. One key activity is fostering strong ties
with the local neighborhood, which not only generates trust but also contributes to the business’s
reputation. Ensuring stable financials is another critical activity, as it allows the nursery to grow and
reinvest in improving its facilities. These facilities, which include essential child care equipment and
educational tools, give the business a competitive edge, making it more attractive to parents seeking
high-quality care for their children.

The nursery also engages in community-building activities such as hosting an annual birthday
party for the children and a yearly Hari Raya celebration with the parents, which strengthens the
relationship between the business and the families it serves. In addition, Taska Permata ELit organizes a
Solat Hajat session with parents, fostering a sense of unity and spiritual well-being. These carefully
planned activities contribute to Taska Permata Elit’s goal of creating a nurturing environment for both
children and their families, ensuring continued success and long-term growth.

14
3.1.8 Key Partner

Key partners refer to the individuals or organizations that a business collaborates with to carry
out its activities and deliver its value propositions. These partners play a vital role in supporting the
business and contributing to its overall success. For Taska Permata Elit, significant partners include the
owner’s place, which provides a strategic location for the nursery, and guest teachers who are brought in
for important events and special occasions. Additionally, the nursery school course serves as a partner,
offering educational frameworks that align with the nursery’s curriculum.

In terms of suppliers, the most important one is the owner’s place, which supplies the building
and infrastructure essential for the nursery’s operations. The location provides the necessary space for
childcare services and activities, ensuring the business runs smoothly. Key activities performed by these
partners include the guest teachers who contribute to special events and programs, enhancing the
nursery’s educational offerings. The nursery also acquires important resources such as the building from
its suppliers, which is a critical asset in maintaining the business’s day-to-day functions and facilitating its
growth.

3.1.9 Cost Structure

A company’s cost structure refers to the total of all fixed and variable costs that make up its
overall expenses. The cost structure of Taska Permata Elit is primarily shaped by critical expenses
required to maintain its operations and provide quality child care services. The most significant costs for
the business include employee salaries, which must meet the minimum wage requirements for workers.
Ensuring fair compensation is essential to attract and retain skilled staff. Another major cost is the house
rent, as the business operates in a house located in the Saujana Rawang neighborhood. The rent has
recently increased due to the property being used as a childcare center, reflecting the higher demand for
such spaces.

In terms of primary resources, the most expensive are those required for maintenance, including
the upkeep of the air-conditioning system, the yard, and toys. These resources are vital for ensuring a
safe and comfortable environment for the children. Additionally, the business’s primary activities,
particularly maintaining the well=being of the surrounding area, contribute significantly to the overall
costs. This includes ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and suitability of the environment for both children
and staff, which requires ongoing attention and investment. These costs are necessary to sustain the
high standards of care and service that Taska Permata Elit offers to its customers.

15
4.0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

4.1 Findings

Taska Permata Elit’s business model emphasizes providing a nurturing, safe and value-based
learning environment for children, aligning with the needs of its primary customers-busy working parents.
The nursery differentiates itself through its value proposition, which integrates religious education,
structured learning, and holistic childcare services. By addressing the dual priorities of early childhood
education and spiritual development, it meets the expectations of its target demographic. The inclusion
of Quran lessons and progress tracking through student books are standout features that enhance the
trust and satisfaction of its clientele. These tailored offerings position the nursery as a trusted partner for
parents, providing more than just childcare services.

The nursery has effectively leveraged a combination of digital and traditional channels to connect
with its customers. Facebook serves as a primary tool for outreach and engagement, complemented by
the power of word-of-mouth recommendations, which remain the most effective channel due to the
credibility of personal referrals. Additionally, strong customer relationships are fostered through open
communication with parents and a focus on community-building activities, such as events and
celebrations. These efforts create a sense of belonging and loyalty among families, which strengthens
the nursery’s reputation and enhances its customer retention.

Taska Permata Elit demonstrates a well-rounded understanding of operational needs and cost
management. The nursery strategically allocates resources to maintain its facilities, provide quality
equipment, and compensate its staff fairly. While significant expenses include salaries, rent, and
maintenance, these investments are necessary to uphold the high standards of care and education.
Furthermore, the use of key partners, such as guest teachers and curriculum providers, enables the
nursery to enhance its offerings. Through its meticulous approach to cost structuring and strategic
partnerships, Taska Permata Elit ensures sustainable operations while continuing to deliver exceptional
value to its customers.

16
 4.2 Discussion/recommendation

Taska Permata Elit has established a solid foundation as a childcare provider by focusing on both
the educational and spiritual development of young children. The business effectively differentiates itself
by incorporating Quran lessons and progress tracking, which cater to the cultural and religious priorities
of its primary customer segment. However, as competition in the childcare sector increases, the nursery
must continue to innovate and enhance its offerings to remain competitive. A potential area for
improvement could be the inclusion of extracurricular activities, such as creative arts or basic STEM
learning modules, to further enrich the children's development and attract a broader customer base.

While the business's reliance on word-of-mouth and social media is cost-effective, it would
benefit from expanding its digital marketing efforts. Establishing an Instagram presence, for example,
could help showcase its programs and facilities to a wider audience, especially among younger,
tech-savvy parents. Additionally, offering customer referral incentives could further amplify the impact of
word-of-mouth recommendations. To maintain strong relationships with parents, the nursery might
consider implementing periodic parent-teacher conferences or providing a mobile application to share
real-time updates about the children’s activities, meals, and progress.

From an operational perspective, managing rising costs, such as rent and maintenance, is critical
to sustaining profitability. The nursery could explore partnerships with local businesses or community
groups to offset expenses. For example, securing sponsorships for events or educational materials could
help alleviate financial pressures. Moreover, investing in energy-efficient systems and sustainable
practices could reduce long-term costs while aligning with the values of environmentally conscious
parents. By continuously refining its operations and customer engagement strategies, Taska Permata Elit
can enhance its value proposition and secure its position as a trusted child care provider.

17
5.0 CONCLUSION

The analysis of Taska Permata Elit reveals a well-structured approach to providing high-quality,
values-driven nursery services. The nursery focuses on meeting the needs of parents who seek not only
a safe environment for their children but also one that promotes early education, health, and moral
values rooted in religious teachings. By offering Quranic lessons, hygiene standards, and personalized
care, Taska Permata Elit stands out from other nurseries, making it especially appealing to families who
prioritize these elements in early childhood development. This emphasis on combining education with
values aligns the nursery’s offerings closely with the expectations of its target market, which includes
married individuals and residents in need of reliable child care.

Partnerships are essential to the success of Taska Permata Elit, with key collaborators, including
property owners, guest teachers, and providers of nursery school courses. These partnerships support
critical operations and activities, such as educational sessions, special event planning, and use of
necessary facilities. Regular activities at the nursery include daily educational programs, health and
safety practices, and community-building events like prayer sessions and celebration days. These
events foster a strong connection between the nursery, the children, and their families, creating an
atmosphere that encourages both learning and community engagement.

The nursery’s resource strategy also reflects a commitment to quality. Skilled teachers and community
support are central to its operations, ensuring that children receive attentive, knowledgeable care. The
physical facility, including classrooms and play areas, is well-maintained to uphold safety and comfort
standards. The major expenses, including salaries, rent, and maintenance costs, are managed carefully
to sustain quality without compromising affordability. This focus on resource management allows Taska
Permata Elit to operate efficiently while maintaining high standards of service and safety for children.

Taska Permata Elit’s revenue is generated from multiple sources, including childcare fees, registration,
additional classes for Quranic studies and fundamental skills, and overtime services. The payment
structure offers flexibility, with options tailored to different age groups and needs, making it accessible for
a range of families. This flexibility enhances the value of the service by allowing parents to select
payment plans that best meet their financial and childcare needs. The nursery’s ability to provide varied
revenue streams while maintaining affordability is essential for long-term sustainability.

In conclusion, Taska Permata Elit has crafted a comprehensive approach to early childhood care that is
both customer-centered and value-driven. By aligning its services with the values and needs of parents,
it builds trust and loyalty among its clientele. The thoughtful integration of community support, skilled

18
educators, and well-maintained resources enables the nursery to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
This approach not only supports children’s holistic growth but also fosters a nurturing environment that

young children.
