Hello! My name is Enrique Sanchez and I´m in 2nd year at ES N°7. My school is small.
There are only two courses, one for 1st year and one for 2nd year. We are 33 students in
my class, 18 boys and 15 girls. My favourite subject is Mathematics. I think school is very
important for your future. With Secondary education, you can find a good job.
My name is Debora Perez. I´m 13 years old and I go to ES N°1. For me secondary education
is great. I can make new friends and meet new people. It is very important to have friends.
I am in 1st year. My school is very big and in my class, there are 37 students. There are
2o girls and 17 boys. My favourite subject is Natural Science.
My name is Daniel Brahams but my friends call me junior because my father is called
Daniel, too. I´m 14 years old. I study at Técnica N° 1. It is a very good school. I´m in 2nd
year. It is very important to do secondary education. It is important for work. You learn a
lot of things in Técnica 1 and when you finish you can find a good job. My class is OK.

More than one million teenagers go to secondary school in our Province. Secondary
Education is now a right for all the teenagers in Argentina but still some young people are
not going to school.

Unfortunately, this is also happening in other parts of the world. UNICEF reports say that
there are big contrasts in different parts of the world. For example, in Europe more than
90 % of students finish school. In other continents, the situation is different. In some parts
of Africa only 20% of young people go to secondary school.

The situation is worse if you compare boys and girls. In some parts of the world they do
not consider education important for a girl. For example, in Yemen, every 100 boys going
to school there are only 41 girls in the same situation.

Secondary Education is a right. Secondary Education is essential for individual children
to achieve their full potential, and for nations to advance in social and economic
development. But only 60 per cent of teenagers attend secondary school in the world today!
