Introductory Message
Welcome to Mathematics for Grade 7!
The Integrated Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of
the Schools Division of Cadiz City and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through
the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to guide the
learning facilitators (teachers, parents, and responsible adults) in helping the learners meet
the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.
The Integrated Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials
aimed to guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in acquiring
lifelong learning skills, knowledge, and attitudes for productivity and employment.
For learning facilitator:
The Mathematics Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the teaching-learning
activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) with minimal or no
face-to-face encounter between you and the learner. This will be made available to the
learners with the references/links to ease the independent learning.
For the learner:
The Mathematics Activity Sheet is developed to help you continue learning even if
you are not in school. This learning material provides you with meaningful and engaging
activities for independent learning. Being an active learner, carefully read and understand
the instructions then perform the activities and answer the assessments. This will be
returned to your facilitator on the agreed schedule.

Determining the Measures of Angles and the Number of Sides of
regular polygons in the Workplace
I. Learning Competency
Determine the measures of angles and the number of sides of
polygons.
Integrated Competency: Determine the Measures of Angles and the
Number of Sides of polygons in the Workplace
II. Background Information for Learners
BASIC CONCEPTS ON POLYGONS
A polygon is a closed figure made up of three or more-line segments
joined at their endpoints. When all sides and all angles of a polygons
are congruent, the polygon is a regular polygons or regular n-gon.
An interior angle of a polygon is an angle formed inside the two
adjacent sides of a polygon. Or, we can say that the angle measures at
the interior part of a polygon are called the interior angle of a polygon.
The interior angles of a polygon always lie inside the polygon. If we
know the sum of all the interior angles of a regular polygon, we can
obtain the interior angle by dividing the sum by the number of sides.
Interior Angle = Sum of the interior angles of a polygon / n
The Sum of interior angles of a polygon is always a constant value. If
the polygon is regular or irregular, the sum of its interior angles remains
the same. Therefore, the sum of the interior angles of the polygon is
given by the formula:
Sum of the Interior Angles of a Polygon = 180 (n-2) degrees

Guided Questions:
Based on your answers in Activity 1 and 2, the following questions.
1. What can you conclude about the sum of the interior angles of
each triangle in activity 1?
2. What is the sum of the interior angles of a triangle?
3. In activity 2, why did you multiply 180 to the number of triangles
that can be formed from a single vertex of a polygon?
4. How to get the sum of the measures of the interior angles of any
polygon?
5. What is the relationship between the number of sides and the
sum of the interior angles?
6. How can you find the measure of the interior angle of a regular
polygon?
7. How can you determine the number of sides of a polygon given the
sum of its interior angles?
Activity 3. “Polygon in the Workplace”
Identify 5 objects in the workplace that resemble polygons. Determine the
sum of their interior angles and find the measure of each interior angle
Questions:
1. What are the 5 objects you identified that resemble polygons?
2. How can you determine the number of sides of each polygon you
identified?
3. What is the sum of the interior angles for each of these polygons?
4. How can you find the measure of each interior angle in a regular
polygon?
5. Why is it important to understand the properties of polygons in a
workplace/farm setting?
Activity 4.
A. Solve for the sum of the measures of the interior angles and find the
measure of the interior angle of the following polygons.
1. 2. 3.
3
4. 5.
B. Solve the following problems by determining the number of sides of
a polygon given the sum of its interior angles.
1. A grade 7 student wants to design a vegetable garden with the sum
of the interior angles being 540 degrees. How many sides should the
garden have?
2. Loctugan Integrated Farm School is building a new greenhouse for
their gardening club. They want the greenhouse to be shaped like a
hexagon. If the sum of the interior angles of the greenhouse is 720
degrees, how many sides does the hexagon have?
3. A farmer wants to divide a large field into smaller plots for different
crops. If the sum of the interior angles of one plot is 1080 degrees,
how many sides does the plot have?
Activity 5. “Exploring Polygon in the Community”
Demonstrate your understanding of polygons by identifying and analyzing
polygon shapes commonly found in your community.
Procedure:
1. Roam around your workplace/garden at home and look for objects
that represent polygons.
2. Create a list of at least five different polygons you have observe.
3. For each identified polygon, determine the number of sides (n).
4. Solve the sum of the interior angles using the formula: Sum = (n - 2)
x 180 degrees.
5. Create a presentation (PowerPoint, poster, or a written report) to
showcase your answers.

Activity 4
A.
1.
Sum of Interior Angles: (7 - 2) * 180° = 5 * 180° = 900°
Measure of each Interior Angle: 900° / 7 = 128.57°
2.
Sum of Interior Angles: (6 - 2) * 180° = 4 * 180° = 720°
Measure of each Interior Angle: 720° / 6 = 120°
3.
Sum of Interior Angles: (5 - 2) * 180° = 3 * 180° = 540°
Activity 1
Measure of each Interior Angle: 540° / 5 = 108°
4.
Sum of Interior Angles: (8 - 2) * 180° = 6 * 180° = 1080°
Measure of each Interior Angle: 1080° / 8 = 135°
5.
Sum of Interior Angles: (4 - 2) * 180° = 2 * 180° = 360°
Measure of each Interior Angle: 360° / 4 = 90°
B.
1. The vegetable garden should have 5 sides, making it a pentagon.
2. The greenhouse should have 6 sides, which confirms it is a hexagon.
3. The plot of land should have 8 sides, making it an octagon.
