Wellhead Description
All the Layouts are a graphic description of the equipment spotting and the minimum
amount of equipment for the job submitted. Depending on the equipment availability
and the space on the location, this layout could be changed only by the job supervisor.
NPS will ensure enough equipment on location in accordance with the client’s official
request to meet the job purpose.
All fluids returns must be aligned to production line or waste pit. These need to be provided by
the client. Red Zone: The safety perimeter around the high pressure lines, which are
pressurized or under active pumping operations, is established by 1.5-2 times the swing
radius of the longest discharge joint in the event of unexpected failure of pressurized
pump(s), DME and/or the wellhead and the area from the high pressure manifold to the front
of the radiator on the HHP trailers (previously defined as controlled area).
Permissible Activities:
Activities permitted by Service Supervisor and taking less than one minute may include:
• Adjustment of flow and refilling of pump packing lube is permitted on pump unit.
• Opening and Closing valves is permitted after receiving permission from client
representative that it is safe to do so.
• No valves are to be closed with active pumping through them.
• Never open a valve without pressure equalization if possible.
• Never open a valve with pressure to atmosphere without going through a choke.
• Conduct pump and line checks from outside the demarcated Red Zone. If closer inspection
is required, minimize time spent on observation and consider whether such activities can

be performed during planned shutdowns.

4. Inflow test Xmas tree to ensure leak free prior to rig up as per NPS SOPs (SOP-CT-003
General Pressure Testing Procedures).
5. Rig up CT and pumping equipment as per NPS SOPs (SOP-CT-002 Rig Up and Rig Down).
6. Hold Toolbox Talk (TBT) for pressure testing operations with all personnel involved,
assign tasks and document.
7. Function test and pressure test BOPs offline, as per NPS SOPs (SOP-CT-016 Routine
BOP Pressure Testing Procedure).
8. Rig up BOPs on the wellhead.
9. Close reel isolation valve and flush all the pumping lines to BOP.
10. Close BOP Blind/Shear rams and bleed off valve.
11. Pressure test BOP stack, all surface lines to the swab valve (pressure test values
based on the table below).
Note:
Based on X-mas tree rating follow below tabulated pressure test values.
12. Bleed off pressure through bleed off valve to zero psi.
13. Open the Blinds as per NPS SOP (SOP-CT-003 General Pressure Testing Procedures).
14. CT Supervisor responsibility for the BHA: refer to (18. BHA Schematic).
Verify and document, the serial number, OD, ID and length of the all the BHA components.
With the CT stabbed into the injector head, make up the Coiled Tubing connector.

15. Perform a pull test on the connector to 15,000 lbs until the weight indicator stabilizes.
16. Start filling up the reel with CT capacity of fresh water.
17. Pressure test CT reel and connector (low (300 psi) / high (4,500 psi) pressure test
for 5 / 10 minutes) as per NPS (SOP-CT-003 General Pressure Testing Procedures).
18. Rig-up lubricator to the Stripper.
19. Make-up BHA and verify all connections are tight and properly torqued as per the manual.
20. Pull into the lubricator and tag the stripper.
21. Pick up the injector and lubricator and connect to the BOP.
22. Secure the injector head with chains.
23. Close the bleed off valve and flush stack through the stripper while pumping through
CT and stop pumping once flushed.
24. Pack the stripper and prepare to pressure test against the swab valve.
25. Pressure test (low 300 psi / high 4,500 psi test for 5 / 10 minutes) as per NPS
(SOP-CT-003 General Pressure Testing Procedures).
26. Bleed off the stack pressure from 4,500 psi to 1,500 psi through the bleed off valve,
then bleed off CT pressure to 0 psi to perform the inflow test on the DFCV for 10
minutes.
27. Bleed off the pressure through bleed off valve to 0 psi.
28. Pressure testing records / charts will remain available on-site pressure VS time plot format.
Note:
Client representative shall confirm all pressure testing has been successfully completed.
Ensure equipment checklists are available to be reviewed by client representatives prior to proceed with
operations.
29. Measure the following below to correct the depth input to Orion system (A-B+C).
30. Cool down N2 unit, open production line and start purging CT reel with N2 to prior to RIH CT.

NOTE
With client representative
Check on TRSCSSSV (Tubing retrievable surface controlled subsurface safety
valve) valve status at the beginning of the job. Strongly keep eye on the
pressure of the control line during the entire stimulation job to maintain the
valve in open position.
2. The recommended CT running speed is 5 m/min through the well head restrictions,
otherwise a maximum RIH speed of 20 m/min below well head, perform pull test every
500 m intervals, monitor downstream and wellhead pressure to ensure flow line is
open to station, do not exceed 400 psi downstream.
3. RIH to a depth of 1,500m while pumping N2 at rate 400 scf/min, at 1,500 m increase
N2 rate up to 500 scf/min, at depth continue pumping N2 until fluid return stops or
hydrocarbon returns are observed, monitor the well for natural flow before
proceeding:
4. If the well does not flow, RIH CT of an additional 500 m while pumping N2 at a rate of 500 scf/m.
5. Keep pumping for at least 2-4 hours, depending on results, and check the well
behaviour, continue lifting at depth until fluid return stops or hydrocarbon returns are
observed, monitor the well for natural flow before proceeding,
Note:
Following below is general guidance on how to improve the efficiency of kick off steps above.
If the circulating pressure increases significantly above normal due to suspected high
hydrostatic fluid column above the nozzle, then the well has fluid inflow, raise up the
coil at appropriate speed while keep circulating nitrogen (N2) to help the liquid unload
from the well.
If circulating pressure decreases significantly and observe the return on surface mainly
N2 gas, then the well is dry with no fluid inflow. So, run the coil deeper at appropriate
speed to locate the fluid for unloading.
Above steps are guidelines only. Some adjustment might be required based on actual
job and well conditions.
MAX CT depth 3,000 mRT (100 m above top of perf.)
6. Once the well shows capability to flow naturally and a stable flow rate has been
established, POOH as per NPS procedures (SOP-CT-004 Running in Hole & Pull Out Of
Hole) while pumping N2 at minimum rate, upon reaching a depth of 1,000 m, shut
down the N2 unit, close in the reel isolation valve, and continue POOH as long as the
well is still flowing.
Note: client representative to evaluate the productivity of the well and confirm POOH CT to surface.
7. POOH CT to surface, hold TBT prior to commencing the rig down review risk
assessments and Rig down as per NPS procedures (SOP-CT-002 Rig Up & Rig Down).
