meaningful contributions to the field.
Academic and Professional Background
I hold a Bachelor of Science ([Link]) in Accounting from Ekiti State University, where I developed a
deep understanding of core accounting principles and practices. During my time at university, I
excelled in courses related to financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and management
accounting. This academic foundation has been crucial in shaping my career and has given me
the ability to apply financial concepts to real-world challenges.
In addition to my academic achievements, I have gained practical experience through various
roles that have helped me develop a well-rounded skill set. Currently, I serve as the Accounts
and Finance Manager at Nord Automobiles Limited, where I am responsible for preparing
financial reports, managing payroll, overseeing the payment schedule, and ensuring accurate
financial documentation. Prior to this role, I worked as a Graduate Trainee Account Officer at
First Excelsia Professional Services, where I gained valuable experience in processing statutory
deductions, preparing financial reports using SAGE, and issuing invoices to clients.
I have also worked as an Audit Trainee at Doyin Owolabi & Co (Chartered Accountants) and as
an Accountant/Operations Manager during my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Biz Hub
Logistics, where I was entrusted with maintaining income and expense records and managing
financial transactions. These roles allowed me to refine my problem-solving, decision-making,
and leadership skills while working within teams to achieve organizational goals.
Why Forensic Accounting?
My interest in forensic accounting stems from my passion for ensuring financial transparency
and accountability within organizations. I have always been intrigued by the intersection of
accounting, law, and investigation. Forensic accounting not only requires technical accounting
skills but also a keen eye for detail and the ability to uncover financial discrepancies and
fraudulent activities. Throughout my career, I have realized the importance of detecting and
preventing financial misconduct, which can have a profound impact on an organization’s
reputation and financial health.
The MSc in Forensic Accounting at the University at Albany presents a unique opportunity for
me to gain specialized knowledge in the field, including the legal and investigative aspects of
forensic accounting. I am particularly interested in learning how to conduct financial
