JOURNAL WEEK 1 DATE: 02/19/24
On this day I woke up early because it was my first time in Field Study 1. I was excited because I was
going to go to another school and be recognized by other people or students as student teachers. So we got to
Justice Eliezer Delos Santos early, around 5 am we were there because that's what our chairperson said before
the flag ceremony, we should be at the respective school. And when I was there, my heart was very happy
because Justice Eliezer Delos Santos also became my home for two years. And I am not here to study but to
observe and see the reality inside the school. A lot has changed, but when the teachers welcomed us inside the
school, we felt the warmth of their welcome to us even the students.
While the students were doing the flag ceremony, I was just smiling and looking at them because I
imagined that someday I would be the teacher who would face them and handle them during the flag ceremony.
And just like that, the flag ceremony was over and we waited for the students to enter the classroom. We went
to the library nervous and happy because we future educators would have a new experience. We only waited a
few minutes and the Head of English, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan spoke to us. As with the usual process,
they first introduced themselves to us before they talked to us about the rules and regulations within the school.
After that, we moved to the computer lab because the Head Teacher of Araling Panlipunan was going to talk to
us and that's when we had to choose which coordinate teacher to go to and what grade level. I went to Grade 10
actually, there were two of us in Grade 10 because, in the morning session there were only 3 teachers, the same
in the afternoon session. I would like to go to grade 8 because the teacher who inspired me to become a social
studies teacher in the future taught there. It's just that I didn't go, it's okay anyway because the coordinate
teacher I went to was my grade 10 teacher who was also one of the added inspirations for this to be the course I
wanted. And I know that I will learn more and expand my knowledge with the help of his guidance.
And now we are here in a reality where we will start observing, and the smile on my face didn't
disappear from entering every room to going home because it was nice to be called teacher, student teacher, and
Ma`am inside of the classroom. When our coordinate teacher introduced us to each room we entered, my heart
leaped with joy because I heard the words Good Morning Ma`am, goodbye teacher. And do you know that
when we started to observe, I realized a lot especially when facing each subject that it was as if each of the
subjects only spent a minute in each room they entered. And here I saw the strategies, methods, and ways of
teachers on how to teach in the classroom. And in this part, the things I studied in grade 10 brought back
memories for me, the fun and activities we did back then. When all my CT schedules were finished, we went to
the computer lab and talked again about what we observed that day after that I went home with a smile on my
face because I knew it was just the beginning but I knew I enjoyed the field study 1.
