Subject Name:

Age: Gender: Occupation:

Instructions: You will be given a sheet consisting of symmetrical design.

You will find a blank space in the design. Six alternative designs 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, and 6 are provided below the design. You have to choose one among these
6 designs which perfectly fits in the blank space of the design. You have to
write the number of the selected design in the answer sheet provided to you.

There are five sets A,B,C,D,E in the answer sheet, each consisting 12
problems total into [Link] have to do all the problems given to you. Write
your answers in the answer sheet. As this is a measure of your intelligence
do it carefully.
All the problem sheets are exposed to you one after another. It is
planned to provide one minute exposure time to the first six problems of
each set A, B, C, D, E and 1½ minute‟s exposure time from 7 to 12 problems
of each set. The difficulty level of the 7 to 12 problems are higher compared
to the first six problems of the each set. Thus the 60 problems are exposed.
You have answered them quickly as the exposure time each fixed.

3. Characteristics of Ravens‟ Progressive Matrices and its application

AIM: To assess the level of intelligence of the subject by using Raven‟s Progressive
Matrices

Materials:

1. Raven‟s Progressive Matrices Sets A,B,C,D, and E prepared by J C Raven, and

published by Manasayan, New Delhi.
2. Manual for scoring

Procedure: The subject is seated comfortably and the following instructions are given.

Instructions: You will be given a sheet consisting of symmetrical design. You will find a
blank space in the design. Six alternative designs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are provided below
the design. You have to choose one among these 6 designs which perfectly fits in the blank

Results: The answers of the subject are corrected with the help of the scoring key given in
the manual.

of the same age group.

GRADE-II: Definitely above the average in intellectual capacity; if a score lies at or

above the 75th percentile

GRADE-III: Intellectually average; if a score lies between 25 th and 75th percentiles. (It
may be designated as III + if it is above the 50th percentile and III – if it is below 50.

GRADE-IV: Definitely below average in intellectual capacity, if a score lies at or below

the 25th percentile, it may be designated IV- if it lies at or below the 10th percentile.

GRADE-V: Intellectually impaired; if a score lies at or below the 50 percentile.

The subject is classified into one of the intellectual groups and grades based on their
percentile points.
