ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage production operating system resource availability


· Perform production operating system IPL / reboot
· Monitor production operating system, and devices
· Perform root cause analysis, resolution and / or escalation for production systems (this does
not include business applications)
· Execute recovery procedures for production operating systems and devices
· Execute and reply to console commands
· Ensure procedures are implemented and followed
· Take the appropriate, predefined recovery actions for the various operational events
· Restart failing components after an outage
· Record and route problems to appropriate support groups
· Provide operational status as required
· Execute recovery procedures for production operating systems and devices
· Perform automated startup and shutdown of the production operating system
· Execute production subsystem (e.g. IMS, CICS, DB2, IDMS) started tasks restarts
· Monitor subsystems (e.g. IMS, CICS, DB2, IDMS)
· Managing (i.e. owning) the incident through service restoration
· Validating severity classification of the problem
· Determining the scope of the problem
· Assessing whether Problem Solver has determined what the problem is and whether a
recovery plan has been mapped out
· Assembling a SWAT team of technical support people (other levels of support, across
platforms as required), if the Problem Solver is unable to determine what the problem is
· Facilitating the SWAT/Service Recovery Team meeting
· Escalating as required
· Driving problem determination activities
· Driving restoration plans
· Ensuring the notification of the Location Crisis Manager for Data Center Crisis for exceptional
outages (every single customer outage)

service has been restored to the customer's satisfaction (or problems reported by a customer)
· Facilitate and/or make service restoration decisions/recommendations (engage the Account
Team as required).

Environment: Control-M, Mainframe, Service now

Suncorp Insurance is One of Australia's Leading Insurers Offering Home, Contents, Motor
and Life Insurance.
Operations team supports 24*7 support and monitoring and remain on-call for any issues.
Operations team works on control-M, we will monitor jobs and if any job fails/late we will get alert
then we will raise an incident to corresponding team. We also schedule jobs as per user
requirements. We also perform actions on jobs such as rerun, hold, release, order, change
command line, add variables, change resource value etc.
Operations team works on Mainframe application. We will manage the mainframe jobs and
perform operations on Mainframe jobs. We will also action on jcl such as, modify,etc,.. We will
action on resources such as bring down/up or recycling resources.
We will monitor service now dashboard for any alerts or tasks. For servicenow alerts we will
raise incident and inform to corresponding support team within SLA.

Client : Wesleyan Assurance society

Environment: IWS/TWS, SolarWinds, Xmatters, Oasis bridge

Wesleyan Assurance Society is a financial services mutual that provides advice and
products to select professional groups – notably hospital doctors, dentists and teachers.
Computer operations team supports 24*7 support and monitoring and remain oncall
for any issues.
Computer operations team works on IWS job, creating new jobs,job streams,
workstations, dependencies in IWS. We are responsible for calander management and we
also involve in DR activity, patching activity, maintenance activities.We also create users
and provide access to IWS.
We monitor Solarwinds dashboard and node management.If any service is down,we
will check the owner team of that service and mail them with details.
We work on Oasis tapes where we need to order the next weeks rotation of tapes to
send across.
We also use Xmatters application. We are responsible for creating new users, groups.
