Electronic Manufacturing
Site Assessment (eMSA)

Module 5

1
Module 5 eMSA

 The purpose of this module is to provide an

overview of the Electronic Q1 Manufacturing Site
Assessment (eMSA) and to teach suppliers how to
access the system.

2
Module 5 eMSA

 Understand the Electronic Manufacturing Site

Assessment (eMSA) functions
 Know how to access the eMSA
 Determine the update frequency of the eMSA
 Identify training and help resources

3
 Manufacturing Sites shipping parts to FCSD
are required to complete an eMSA

 Procurement / Packaging sites are still

required to complete the excel based
assessment
◦ Contact your FCSD STA for the appropriate form and
process

4
 Supplier conducts a self-assessment per the
specified cadence and then submits it to the
STA Site Engineer. The STA Site Engineer
validates the self-assessment and determines
further actions, if necessary.

Note: The minimum ongoing Q1MSA frequency for suppliers of service

parts is every 12 months regardless of Q1 status.

that a supplier complete the eMSA as a prerequisite to Q1
certification
◦ Once certified to Q1, each supplier is required to conduct
periodic self assessment of their site based on the Ford
designated expectations and guidelines as shown in SIM

assessment or the Q1 Manufacturing Assessment action plan, if
required
 The initial Overdue assessment will result in a metric score of 10
 For Q1 achievement, a MSA score of 15 metric points is required
 When 0 points are applied, Q1 revocation will be recommended
