So my presentation is about Charlie Chaplin. Imagine you are sitting a....
Wait I think something is wrong with the presentation. Something is
efinetly wrong, wait I am going to try sharing it again.
Step 2. Real presentation
Ok everything works now. Imagine it’s the 20th century and you are
stuck at home on a rainy day. There is nothing to do, but then you see
what is on the tv and immediately start laughing at the funny stories of
Charlie Chaplins movies. This was something that would happen to a
lot of kids and teenagers around the globe. So let’s talk about this man
Charlie was born in 1889, He lived for 88 years and then died in 1977.
He was born in London and lived in poverty. His father left the family
and his mother was very poor. At the age of 19 he moved to the US and
began acting. In these movies he developed the Tramp persona, which
we all know. At the time he only acted in Silent films, and does anybody
know what a silent film is? It is a film where there are no words and
actors communicate with the audience using body language. By 1918,
he was known across the whole globe.
Some facts about Charlie Chaplin. When Charlie was 14, his mother had
to go to a mental asylum. In later years he was forced to leave the US
because of some scandals, he moved to Switzerland where lived the
rest of his life. During his whole life Charlie had 4 wives, and 11
children!! Can you believe that.
So let’s summarise his life. He was a famous actor in the 20th century.
Charlie was very popular in the early years, but later the popularity
died down. He lived most of his life in the US and Switzerland.
