Dear Concern,

I am glad to writing this email to you to let you know my interest in the Senior NLP
engineering position at Hishab. I graduated from University of Kentucky, Kentucky, with a
master’s degree in computer and information science. I have done several research
publications in the area of ML and applied health science using natural language processing
and big data methodologies. I am looking for opportunities in the area of AI and NLP.

I have a strong professional background in the area of computer science specially in large scale
application development that involve several complex components including data centric
algorithm design and data processing pipeline development. I am proficient in python, java,
scala and familiar with several other programming languages which include programming
language design ideas such as functional, declarative and object-oriented paradigm. In my
previous research, I defined novel problems, gathered dataset to prove the hypothesis that I
formed in the area of social networks, retails industry and health science. I published those
works in top conferences and journal.

In my last project, I worked as a senior software engineer II where I spend most of my time in
designing and developing a large-scale application API. The goal is to automatically detect the
disease codes from doctors’ notes and generate score to calculate the cost of medication. We
have used several technologies along with different types of algorithms including generative
models like Recurrent neural networks and transformer-based language models to pretrain our
own language model using large scale medical dataset. After, pretraining, we have used small
scale labelled dataset to fine tune our classification task. We also utilize amazon comprehend
medical to generate automated labeling for semi supervised based learning model.
Furthermore, the application API also has text preprocessing algorithm, dictionary generation,
caching mechanism implemented. I was able to contribute in all those areas. In summary, we
were able to reduce a complex problem into a more manageable and solvable task.

I am eager to hear back from you. I would like to know more about the research being on
going and I also would like to introduce myself.

I have attached my resume. It has information regarding the publications I did in the area of
health care and machine learning research. In addition, my industrial work experiences are also
mentioned.
