SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES


4.1. Description of first aid measures
Skin contact: Remove all contaminated clothes and footwear immediately unless stuck to
skin. Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water.
Eye contact: Bathe the eye with running water for 15 minutes.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Transfer to hospital as soon as possible.
Inhalation: Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. If
breathing has stopped or become irregular, administer artificial respiration. Keep patient
warm and at rest. Call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately.

Skin contact: There may be mild irritation at the site of contact. May cause transient
sensitisation, such as tingling/numbness on exposed areas (paresthesia), lasting up to 24
hours.
Eye contact: There may be irritation and redness.
Ingestion: There may be irritation of the throat. Nausea and stomach pain may occur. There
may be vomiting and diarrhoea.
Inhalation: There may be irritation of the throat with a feeling of tightness in the chest.
Absorption through the lungs can occur causing symptoms similar to those of ingestion.

Skin and eye: Acute percutaneous LD50 for rats 632–696 mg/kg. Mild eye irritant;
non-irritant to skin (rabbits). Not a skin sensitiser (guinea pigs).
Inhalation: LC50 (4 h) for rats 0.06 mg/l air (total particulate).

SECTION 12: ECOTOXICOLOGY INFORMATION


The following information is for active ingredient, Lambda-cyhalothrin
Birds: Acute oral LD50 for mallard ducks >3950 mg/kg. Dietary LC50 for quail >5300 mg/kg.
No accumulation of residues in eggs or tissues.
Fish: LC50 (96 h) for bluegill sunfish 0.21, rainbow trout 0.36 μg/l.
Daphnia: Intrinsic toxicity to aquatic organisms is greatly reduced by rapid loss from the
water by adsorption and degradation: EC50 (72 h) in water 0.26 μg/l, in water/sediment 31
μg/l.

Algae: ErC50 (96 h) for Selenastrum capricornutum >1000 μg/l.
Bees: LD50 (oral) 909 ng/bee; (contact) 38 ng/bee.
Worms: LC50 for Eisenia foetida >1000 mg/kg soil.
