CELEBRATION
BIBLE VERSE
Revelation 21:1 ESV
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHT
Christ assured the angels that by His death He would ransom
many, and would destroy him who had the power of death. He
would recover the kingdom which man had lost by transgression,
and the redeemed were to inherit it with Him, and dwell therein
forever. Sin and sinners would be blotted out, nevermore to
disturb the peace of heaven or earth. He bade the angelic host to
be in accord with the plan that His Father had accepted, and
rejoice that, through His death, fallen man could be reconciled to
God. Then joy, inexpressible joy, filled heaven. The glory and
blessedness of a world redeemed, out measured even the anguish
and sacrifice of the Prince of life. Through the celestial courts
echoed the first strains of that song which was to ring out above
the hills of Bethlehem—“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth
peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14. With a deeper gladness
now than in the rapture of the new creation, “the morning stars
sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.” Job 38:7.

OBJECTIVE
Emphasize the love of God in the creation of this
world and the everlasting joy of the New Creation.
INTRODUCTION
We all like parties! God prepared one right after He
brought forth the wonders of this world after all the
amazing 6 days of creation, including some creations
that He can love– Yes! Us! As a special gift He
established the Sabbath, a weekly celebration of His
magnificent work and love for us. We can rejoice in
this amazing creation, and His abundant love and
care every single week, on the Sabbath! Just as we
rejoice in the original creation we are looking forward
to that day when God will fulfill His promise to make
all things new again. Then we will enjoy His presence
and unparalleled joy when we are all together.
Sabbath after Sabbath, the celebration of God’s
eternal love and redeeming power will be our reality.
SUGGESTION
Prepare a children’s story focusing on celebration.
The church or place where the event is taking place
can be decorated as a birthday party.
03 ORIGAMI CREATION EVENT
If the kids are old enough and/or the families are involved in this afternoon
creation celebration activity, you can have an Origami Creation Event.

HOME & CHURCH
CREATION CELEBRATION
These ideas are ideal for a Church and Home Creation Sabbath
Suggestion
Prepare a children’s story focusing on celebration. Give the families ideas
for things to do and reflect on during the week. For visuals, and as a token
to remember the creation, each day of the week at home the kids can do a
craft. This will be a visual reminder for them at home of creation. Use these
ideas in your morning and evening family worship.
SUNDAY
THE FIRST DAY
Read Genesis 1:1-5
Activities for this day
Make the first piece of the Creation
Mobile (see Activity section).
Alternative Craft:
Suncatchers
Color and/or assemble the
creation wheel. You can find it in
the activity section.
You can adapt the materials
according to your region.
Long time ago, God looked at this world and it was empty, messy, and
dark. God had no one He could love. Nobody big. Nobody small, not even
a baby. Then God said: “Let there be light”, and there was light.
God saw that the light was good…. God called the light day and the
darkness he called night, and there was evening, and there was morning –
the first day. (Gen.1:3-5 NIV). But even then, there was nobody God could
love.
MONDAY
THE SECOND DAY
Read Genesis 1:6-8
Activities for this day
Make the second piece of the Creation
Mobile (see Activity section).
Alternative Craft:
Simple Kite and play in the park or
backyard, talk about the air God
made on the second day of creation.
Go outside and play with bubbles or
balloons to illustrate the creation of
the air.
After that first amazing day God said, “Let there be a space between the
waters, to separate the waters of the havens from the waters of the earth”
(Gen.1:6 NLT) On this day, God created the sky. God called the sky heavens.
God created the beautiful blue sky. God said that it was good, and there
was evening and there was morning – the second day.
But even in the second day, there was nobody God could love.
TUESDAY
THE THIRD DAY
Read Genesis 1:9-13
Activities for this day
Make the third piece of the Creation Mobile
(see Activity section).
Alternative Craft:
Make a window germination station, and
choose seeds that germinate fast, like
lentils, radishes, or another legume.
Idea for a Germination station.
(Remember to adapt the activity to the
materials you find in your region.)
Talk about how God made each tree and how
plants have seeds that will bear the same
plant from which they came. Talk about what
the plants need for growth and to bear fruit.
God then moved the waters in one place to have dry ground. God called the
dry ground land and the waters sea. And God said that it was good! Then God
made the plants and trees. The land produced lots of plants and trees. God
saw that it was good. “And evening passed, and morning came, making the
third day” (Gen 1:13). But even then, God didn’t have anybody He could love.
WEDNESDAY
THE FOURTH DAY
Read Genesis 1:14 -19
Activities for this day
Make the fourth piece of the Creation
Mobile (see Activity section).
Alternative Craft:
Make a paper cup/cardstock
luminary.
For older kids, you can help them
make a constellation flashlight.
(Just a note: for this to work, the room
or place must be really dark.)
Read Genesis 1:14 -19
Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the
night” … God made two great lights - the larger one to govern the day, and
the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars. (Gen. 1:14-16
NLT) God made the moon and the twinkling stars that we see during the
night and the big great warm sun to tell us that is day. It was evening and
morning of the fourth day. But God still didn’t have anybody to love.
THURSDAY
THE FIFTH DAY
Read Genesis 1:20 - 23
Activities for this day
Make the fifth piece of the Creation
Mobile (see Activity section).
Alternative Craft:
Make a bird feeder
Go bird watching in your
neighborhood or nearby park. Find
the tally sheet in the activity section
To emphasize the fish and creatures
of the sea:
Paper plate whale You can find the
pattern in the activity section
Remember to adapt these ideas to your
region.
God was filling the spaces he created in the first 3 days!
Now, it was the turn of the water and the sky to be filled with life. Then God
said, “Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with
birds of every kind” (Gen. 1:20 NLT). Now there were songs in the air and
flapping of wings in the trees, splashing sounds in the sea, and lots, lots of
different creatures swimming in the water. And that was the evening and the
morning - the fifth day. God saw that it was good.
But still, there was nobody to love.
FRIDAY
THE SIXTH DAY
Read Genesis 1:24 - 31
Activities for this day
Make the sixth piece of the Creation
Mobile (see Activity section)
Alternative activity:
Arrange a visit to a zoo, or a local
petting zoo.
Talk about all the variety of sizes, colors,
and types of fur or hair the animals have.
Admire God’s creation and creativity of life.
Create a paper animal safari with these
ideas that you can find in the activity
section (You can print this or create
your own)
God said, “Let the earth produce every sort of animal … livestock, small
animals that scurry along the ground, and wild animals”. (Gen. 1:14 NLT) And
God saw that it was good! Now the earth was not empty anymore. Wonderful
creatures filled the earth, but God didn’t have anybody to love - yet. Then God
said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign
over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals
on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground” (Gen1:26
NLT). God made a man that He named Adam, and a woman that He named
Eve. Now, God had someone to love! What an amazing day! Then God looked
over all he had made, and he said that it was very good!
And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day (Gen. 1:31).
SATURDAY
THE SEVENTH DAY
Read Genesis 2:1 - 4
Activities for this day
Make the seventh piece of the Creation Mobile (see Activity section)
Alternative activity:
Celebrate in Sabbath school the opportunity to worship God together.
Share with others what you have learned during the week about God’s
creation and His love for us. Bring photos or your favourite craft or
creation mobile to show and tell. Enjoy the Sabbath rest. If possible, eat
together as a church family to culminate this wonderful celebration
week.
Now that God had someone to love, He wanted to spend time together and be
with Adam and Eve, and consequently with us! And God blessed the seventh
day and declared it holy, because it was the day when He rested from all His
work of creation (Gen. 2:3 NLT). What an amazing way to finish creation! A
whole day of celebration. That is why we gather every Sabbath to celebrate
God’s creation and love for us. Soon, very soon, God will come and re-create
heaven and earth, and we will be able to celebrate with Him for ever! (Read
Revelation 21:1 ESV “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more”.)
