Use Your Imagination to Do the Following Exercise!
Do you believe there are other worlds beyond our own? I think it’s immensely helpful to
let your creativity run free and imagine characters that serve as your avatar in a fictitious world.
I’m curious how your imagination will run and how you will write an alternate version of yourself!
Read the following scenario and answer the questions that follow it.
“Are you familiar with the world of Harry Potter? If you’re not familiar, then I strongly
suggest you research about it since it’s a fun world to explore! But if you’re not feeling like it,
then I will briefly describe it:
Imagine if there’s another world hidden from your sight. A magical land where myths,
dreams, wizards, and witches roam and populate the world like normal people. In addition to
cats and dogs, they’d keep owls, toads, and rats as pets. Instead of cockroaches they deal with
imps, goblins, and pixies. Now, picture yourself within this world, what kind of person would you
be? What kind of adventure will you have?”
Using the scenario above, answer the following questions. Use the utmost of your
creativity! Answer the questions with paragraphs.
1. Who is your character’s name? What’s his family background and how is he correlated
to the magical world?
2. How was/is his/her school life in the magical academy?
3. What does your character look like?
4. How does your character react to problems? What is their personality, preferences, and
quirks?
5. What does your character do in the magical world? Is he/she a student? A magical
policeman or a shopkeeper selling old trinkets?
6. What is his/her special ability?
7. What is the lifelong goal of this character that he/she has yet to achieve?
We will discuss your character in our next meeting!
