ANNUAL DAY REPORT

It is an exceedingly proud moment for me to stand


before this august house this evening on the occasion
of 26th Annual day of Kendriya Vidyalaya,
Gachibowli. I feel immense happiness to extend a
warm welcome to our chief guest, [Link]
Assistant Commissioner Hyderabad Region,
distinguished guests, dear parents, members of staff
and my dear children, a very pleasant evening to
each one of you and a heart felt thanks for coming
over and gracing the occasion.
In fact, I am privileged to welcome each one of you
on the occasion of our 26th Annual day.
The chief guest present in the gathering need no
introductions, we all are well aware of his
contribution in the field of education. This grand
occasion has become more special by the sheer
presence of this towering figure. I would like to
welcome him formally by presenting a bouquet.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Gachibowli envisages
achieving excellence in every endeavor in the field of
education. We strive to produce universal quality of
students equipped with competence and zeal to come
up to required standards.
Our vidyalaya is catering to the needs of
approximately 1400 students with Science and
Commerce streams in class XI and XII. There are 60
staff members to look after the holistic development
of the students.
This report is a brief account of activities organized
and target achieved during the academic session
2014-15.
ACADEMICS.
It gives me immense happiness to inform you all, that
KV Gachibowli has been achieving 100% results for
the last seven years which has made KV Gachibowli
one of the most prestigious and sought after school of
the region.
 Last year 6 students from class 10th got 10
CGPA and in class12th science, M.P Nila
scored the highest 91.6% and in Commerce
stream, master Deepak scored 92.4%.
CCA.
 All important days were celebrated through the
year to inculcate life skills and moral values of
secularism, patriotism, fraternity, teamwork,
mutual co-existence, tolerance, dignity of
labour, respect for life etc.
In our primary wing out of 550 students 314 have
won prizes in different categories.
 Grand-parents’ Day.
The grand –parents day and community lunch were
organized to inculcate desirable values among the
children.
 Autumn festival.
The vibrant festival was organized to commemorate
[Link] whole school participated in this
event with lots of enthusiasm.
 Music and Dance. Master Yuvraj Murthy led
160 young musicians from different schools in a
programme called Naad-tarangam.
A music C.D. of Kum. Joylin of class 4th was released
in praise of God.
18 students from our school were selected to
participate in a dance event for the movie Bahubali.
A remuneration of Rs 1,80,000 was paid to them.
Library.
 Library of the school is an ever growing
organism having 13000 books.
 A total of 300 titles were added this year.
 As per the Raj bhasha norms 50%books
procured this year are in Hindi.
 Documentaries and educational movies are
screened regularly. Exhibitions are also a regular
feature.
 Mars Orbiter Mission and Prime minister’s
interaction with students was live telecast.
INFRASTRUCTURE
With the kind permission of Chairman VMC Shri M
V Rao Spdt. Engineer CPWD we have carried out
our school’s internal painting works.
 We have successfully constructed a ramp to
make the Vidyalaya ‘differently abled’ friendly
to promote Inclusive Education.
 School also received 10 computers from KVS
Head Qtrs, so the school is being enriched with
every possible year.
SCIENCE
 In National Children Science Congress
approximately 120 students in Junior and senior
groups prepared the write ups and survey based
projects. Six groups were selected at junior and
senior level.
 We are proud to announce that KV Gachibowli
organized KVS Regional Level Science Exhibition
successfully. 43 vidyalayas of Hyderabad region
participated in this event. Exhibits of 6 students
were selected for Regional level and 2 students
were selected for Quiz. The exhibits of 3
students got selected for National Level Science
Exhibition.
 National Science Day is celebrated every year
for promotion of science.
 The students of this Vidyalaya have taken part in
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and
Science Olympiads which were organized by
Indian Association of Physics Teachers.
 73 students have taken part in Junior Science
Olympiad and 25 students have participated in
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy
Olympiad and 4 students got appreciation
certificates in Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry
and Biology from IAPT.
 The students of this Vidyalaya also participated
in Vigynaotsav conducted by University of
Hyderabad.
 6 students have participated in debate, quiz,
Elocution and seminar. We got second Prize in
Debate, Two students got second prize in Quiz.
It was conducted along with Degree college
students.
Sanskrit Week
 Sanskrit week was celebrated from Aug 7 to
Aug 14 to highlight the importance of this
most scientific language of the world.
English Olympiad
English Olympiad was organized and the
school has received ‘The Best Participation
Award ‘ from Unified Council. for all the
secondary classes. The school is being given
a special prize

Adolescence Education Programme Various issues


related with health, hygiene, growth and
development of growing teen’s were resolved under
this programme.
Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on 25th Sep,
2014. This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of a
'Clean India' by 2 October 2019, the 150th birthday of
Mahatma Gandhi
The drive carried out in the school premises was
telecast on DD News Channel
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit
Trafficking
 A rally was organized on 26th June, 2014 to
create awareness regarding drugs and
substance abuse in collaboration with
Narcotic Control Bureau .
National vigilance week It was organized from 27
Oct 2014 to 1st Nov 2014 to promote transparency in
administration with the theme combating
corruption, technology as enabler.
National Unity Day.
 31st Oct was celebrated as the National Unity
Day to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar
Vallabh Bhai Patel. A unity run was also
organized to spread the 'Iron Man's' message
of good governance and national integration
on this day.
Mathematics
 World Maths week was celebrated in a grand
manner from 16 Dec to 22 Dec 2014 by
conducting various competitions.
 World famous classical dancer Ms. Purva
Dhanashri enthralled the students on 29th Jan
[Link] programme was organized by The
Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical
Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY)
SOCIAL SCIENCE.
 In social science exhibition the school
achieved stupendous results out of 8 models 5
were selected for the regional level.
 Master Amber represented Hyderabad region
at the National level.
 Another feather in our cap was our incredible
victory in the youth parliament where we
clinched first position at the regional level and
slated fourth at the zonal level.
 8 students have been selected to visit the
Parliament along with the teacher in charge
Mrs Samyukta Nair. They are special invitee
to visit the parliament museum and watch the
live live proceedings of parliament.

Sports and Games


In games and sports KV Gachibowli have no
[Link] continuation with its excellent performance,
our students brought laurels to the Vidyalaya.
 6 students participated in the All India
Federation Cup in the month of March 2015 in
Haryana.
 In Taekwondo, two boys participated in the
Youth Olympic Nationals and won medal in the
senior national taekwondo championship in
April .
 In badminton our students participated in all
India Railway tournament in which Master Sri
Krishna came out with all India 9th Rank in U-15.
 45 students participated in KVS National meet in
various games and sports held at New Delhi
where we won 22 Gold 4 Silver and 5 bronze
medals.
 15 of our students qualified for SGFI.
Our school’s Hockey boys’ team won Olympian Jude
Felix Hockey Trophy at Bangalore.
Scouts and Guides
 Under scouts and guides 5 of our students were
selected for Rashtrapati Puraskar.
 4 Guides and 4 scouts were awarded Rajya
Puraskar. A total strength of 350 students is
enrolled for scouts and guides.

ART AND CRAFT.


 [Link] Lalsa of class 10th participated in
slogan writing competition organized by ozone
cell under ministry of environment, govt. of
India.
 I take special pride to inform the gathering that
her slogan got first prize and the slogan has been
issued as a sticker by the UNO and she was
awarded with a memento and a cash prize of
Rs.20, 000.
 Mural workshop was conducted for students
and teachers.
 One student won gold medal at the national
level painting competition.
 Another student was awarded gold medal at
the state level painting competition.
The art and craft department contributed heavily
for all the celebration carried out in the school.
In the end I would like to appreciate the sincere and
relentless efforts of my staff and subordinate staff for
showing immense resilience and shouldering
responsibilities beyond endurance. I feel over-joyed
to share with you that our vidhyalaya has been
declared outstanding by the inspecting team. Once
again I thank each one of you for coming here this
evening. The vidyalaya has a long way to go and seek
your cooperation to work mutually as a team to create
a better teaching and learning environment for the
students.
