TOMATO
TRINITY
AN INDETERMINATE VARIETY WITH THE
COMBINATION OF MULTI VIRUS AND
STRONG BACTERIAL RESISTANCES

• Very high and uniform truss setting

• Very high yield potential
• Ability to keep uniform size to the top
• Well balanced, longevity

Type:
An indeterminate round type tomato hybrid suited to greenhouse or open field production for the fresh market.
Maturity:
Medium maturing variety. In Summer plantings the first fruit will mature in 80 - 85 days after transplanting. The date
of harvesting may vary by as much as 10 days between early and late season plantings. This needs to be taken into
consideration when planning planting schedules under different growing conditions.
Plant Characteristics:
TRINITY is a strong, vigorous and productive plant with an open growth habit.
Fruit Characteristics:
TRINITY has a very high quality, oblate to deep oblate fruit with an average mass of 140-160g and excellent quality with
thick walls. TRINITY is a jointed variety with light green shoulders and long shelf life. The fruit are very uniform and a high
percentage of first grade could be expected.
Plant Population:
TRINITY is adaptable to open field or greenhouse production as a trellised type. Although highly recommended to be
pruned, the variety could be grown un pruned. For optimal results, plants should be pruned to between 1-3 stems in open
field production. Pruning will lead to earlier setting and better fruit uniformity. Attention should be given as not to prune
too severely during summer as foliage might be reduced leading to possible sun burn damage.
Open Field: planting density should be 12,000 - 18,000 plants per hectare. The row spacing should not be less than 35cm
between plants.
Under protection: the plants could either be trained to a single stem on a supporting string and then layered down, or
pruned to two stems and stopped at the desired height. The planting density should be 2-3 plants / stems per m².
Disease Resistance:
HR: Verticillium Wilt (Va, Vd), Fusarium Wilt (Fol 1, 2), Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV) (1/3).
IR: Root-knot Nematodes (Ma, Mi,Mj), Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV), Powdery Mildew (Lt), Bacterial Wilt (Rs).
Features & Benefits
TRINITY has a very high yield potential and constantly achieved between 6-8 yields per plant in trials conducted during 4
consecutive seasons. The variety stood out as the plant with the best leaf structure and longevity. It showed an open growth
habit with vigour and balance. The variety had very high quality fruit with the ability to set uniform size to the top of the
plant. TRINITY has the potential to accelerate even further in its last harvest cycles, to out yield any standard to the end.

Resistance: is the ability of a plant variety to restrict the growth and development of a specified pest or pathogen and/or the damage they cause when compared to susceptible plant varieties under similar
environmental conditions and pest or pathogen pressure. Resistant varieties may exhibit some disease symptoms or damage under heavy pest or pathogen pressure (HR = High resistance, IR = Intermediate
resistance).
