Jointly organised by De La Salle University (the Philippines), Newcastle University (UK),
Tribhuvan University (Nepal) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

ROADSLOPES background:
Road slope failures are costly to the economy, livelihoods, and the environment; yet they occur
every year on roads globally, especially during ‘wet seasons’.
ROADSLOPES aim:
We aim to create a global community of researchers and practitioners that can share research,
ideas, and current engineering projects on road slope stabilisation to reduce the problem of
costly and disruptive road-slope failures.
Symposium:
An online symposium for practitioners and academics from different countries to share
research and discuss engineering projects on road slope stabilisation.
Date: 15th – 16th August 2022
Duration: 08:00 –11:30 BST (12:45-16:15 NPT and 15:00-18:30 MYT/PHT).
Attendees: Open access (free to attend) for students, academics, and practitioners.
Key themes:
i. Analysis and monitoring of road slopes
ii. Slope stabilisation solutions
iii. Case studies
Presentations: 15 minutes (+5 min Q&A)
Details: Symposium will take place online over zoom. Zoom link will be sent out the week before
the event alongside the programme.
