FANTASY UNDEAD MONSTERS:

Wight:
Wights are long dead warriors who are held together by dark magic from ancient times.
In ages past, they were buried beneath mounds/crypts of earth and stone.
They are usually buried with their battle gear and worldly wealth.

Description: Usually their bodies have decayed, leaving only bones and tattered flesh.
They are held together by dark magic so strong, it can last many centuries.
They also wear ancient armour, corroded by time and dusty with the centuries.

Their weapons are ancient, inlaid with evil runes of dark magic, which can inflict terrible
damage on the living.
The weapons may have gems inlaid on the hilt to show great wealth.

In their ancient rusted war gear, and deathly appearance, they can strike fear in the stoutest of
hearts.
X
Liche (undead magic user):
Some magic users are powerful enough to defy death itself and return to the world of the living
as an evil-hearted liche.
A liche is an undead necromancer, and could be centuries old.

Description (a corpse-like creature):

The flesh may appear shrivelled, and it’s bones cracked and ancient, the liche is still immensely
powerful.
The liche may in fact, be even more powerful than when it was alive.

It could possibly take a group of magic users to defeat a liche.

X
Zombie:
Zombies are corpses brought back to life by dark magic.
Animated by the dark magic of the foul-hearted magic user, they are slaves to the
necromancer’s whim.
Description: The flesh of a zombie is rank, blotched with various stages of rot, riven with
maggots and worms.
Their skin hangs off their bodies here and there.
Some appear like the recently deceased, while others are more decayed.
X
Skelton:
Various battlefields over the centuries are strewn with the graves of many warriors (some
nameless), who have fallen in battle, and while some are lucky enough to be consigned to a
hasty resting place, others have simply been left upon the ground amidst the carnage.

Even in death there is no rest for these fallen warriors, for they can be summoned back to the
world of the living by dark magic, compelled to do their master’s bidding.
How could any living being remain unafraid when faced with the remains of long dead warriors
moving towards them intent on destroying them.
The power of dark magic binds their bones together to move and fight.

Description: Skeletons usually appear as nothing but old bones weathered with age.
To see these ‘old bones’ moving towards you or others gives rise to great fear.
Skeletons carry rusty weapons and other ancient gear, and they may still be encased in ancient
armour of various types.
