Overall responsibilities are as follows:


 In depth knowledge of industry/regulatory design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Stress
Analysis design work
 Identity different stress packages through review of P&ID’s/line designation tables
 Full hands-on knowledge of stress analysis software like Caesar II and PIPNET.
 Perform Piping Flexibility Analysis Static for critical piping systems during preliminary design
and detailed design phase of project.
 Perform analysis for sustain, thermal and multiple operating cases, occasional (winds, seismic,
relief, hammer etc.)
 Perform pipe stress analysis for different equipment like steam turbine, compressors, centrifugal
pumps, tanks, exchangers, heaters, columns, air coolers etc. to review of piping forces/moments
 Perform stress analysis of pipe rack and produce support load report to structural.
 Analysis the system to ensure stress, loads and displacement are within the limit as per project
requirement, recommendations for modification.
 Carry out all calculations related to displacement of various equipment, branch reinforcement
calculation etc.
 Provide pipe loading information to Civil/structure for design of pipe rack/structures and
foundations.
 Resolve high pipe loads on equipment nozzles
 Prepare stress critical line list of assigned projects.
 Prepare spring support/hanger data sheet
 Prepare and issue of piping loads to civil /structure and coordinate with structure for design of

support.
 Prepare technical part of requisitions for all piping supports components required by stress
Analysis
 Prepare stress analysis report, support design and mark upon piping drawings
 Preparation and interpretation/review of stress calculations of relatively complex nature in high
seismic zone.
 Locate and identify pipe supports on isometrics along with type of supports
 Evaluation of local stresses via code cases like WRC107/297
 Review and sign off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting.
 Conversant with requirements like trunnion/ flange leakage calculations, qualification of
allowable nozzle loads
 Review of client technical documents and requirements.
 Review of vendor drawings and coordinate with other discipline
 Prepare complete documentation of the stress analysis and support design.
 Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers
 Understand the roles played by other disciplines on the projects
 Provides technical direction and assigns work to engineers who are assigned on specific
assignments.
 Responsible for quality and schedule for assigned piping stress analysis tasks.
 Do technical bid evaluation for all piping supports components offers
 Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping supports components purchase orders.
