The Luo Meals

1. Ugali served with Fish and saga

Sagaa, also known as spider plant, is rich in proteins, vitamins,


carbohydrates, and minerals which are lacking in most leafy vegetables.

Health Benefits Of Sagaa.

1. Potassium-rich in Sagaa is very effective in regulating blood pressure


levels in the body.

2. It contains abundant Vitamin A which helps in improving eyesight. Vitamin


A also enhances your skin making it as smooth as a baby’s.

3. Sagaa contains low-calorie levels which aid in reducing cholesterol levels


in the body and weight loss. The reduction of cholesterol levels helps in
preventing heart diseases such as strokes and also prevents obesity.

The vegetable is mostly grown in Kisii, Nyamira, Kisumu, Tharaka Nithi, and
Central Kenya. Countries like Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda also consume
Sagaa.

INGREDIENTS

 Blanched and naturally Sun-Dried leafy vegetables

 No additives or Preservatives

HOW TO USE

Re-hydrate the Sagaa vegetables in boiling water for 10 minutes or more as


desired.

Drain and wash the vegetables.

Fry with onions, tomatoes, and cream or as best desired.

Preparation procedure

1. Sliced into pieces


2. Descaling
3. Smoked at using duol- is fire place prepared using cow dung
4. A slight desiccation through sun drying
5. Boiled for about 30 minutes with
6. Add cow gee
7. Prepare a stew of
a) Tomatoes
b) Onions
c) And peppers

1. Ugali made form dried cassava

Grind the dried cassava in a grinding stone

Boil water of 3 cups in a pot to boiling point

Add the cassava flour slightly while mixing

The Ugali made of cassava does not require a prolonged heating and so it
removed after approximately 10 8 minutes
