5.1 Plan a podcast
1.Which software are we using to make a podcast?
Audio editor or Digital Audio Workstation to make recording. Example: Audacity
software.
2.How to plan your podcast?
There are three points to think to plan your podcast.
• Your aim
• Your objectives and
• Your constrains
3. Describe about the best way to present content.
For presenting the content, we can focus on the style of the presentation, location, and
mood.
The presentation style can be a solo presentation, co-hosting and interview methods.
The location can be in the studio or on outside of the studio.
The mood says about the usage of language such as formal and informal language
4.Describe about the outline of the segments of a podcast.
The podcast should have a structure and the structure has many parts of the podcast.
These parts are also called as a segment.
The order of the segments is given below.
• Intro
• Sting
• Topic segment
• Outro
• Closing remarks
.5. What are the parts of podcast outline.
There are many parts in the podcast outline. The most important parts are given below.
• Podcast title
• Length of the podcast in minutes
• Segment’s name
 • Content of each segment
• The time allotment of each segment
6.What are the points to remember when we write our script.
When we write our script, remember to:
• Write like you speak
• Use short sentences
• Avoid jargon

8. Explain the difference between an outline and a script for a podcast.
A script often contains more in-depth content, including word-for-word scripts,
prompts, and descriptors such as music or sound effects. Instead, an outline should
be viewed as the starting foundation of how a podcast episode, or show as a whole,
should flow.
5.2 Digital audio recording.
1. How is sound captured digitally?
A microphone captures the sound waves. The sound waves converted into
electricity by the microphone. Again, the computer converts the electrical current into
digital data and this digital data can be played by the system.

FLAC are the types of sound file formats.

4. list the types of microphones.
It can be classified as external and internal microphone. The external can be taken
anywhere to record the script. Internal is a fixed one in the computer, smartphone.
The external microphone has the feature of high-quality audio capture. But the internal
one has the medium quality audio capture.
5. What is called clips?
Each track can contain piece of audio called clips.
6. What is called multi-track?
We can arrange and mix the tracks together to create our final audio project, this
process is called multi-track recording.

Audacity, Wave Pad, Ocenaudio, wavosaur are the types of DAW for window based
application software and GarageBand is for iOS.

9. What does the waveform illustrate?
The waveform says that the sound is recorded in the tracks.
10. How does the input level meter help you record audio?
The input level meter helps to identify the input is good or too high. If it is too high then
the recording might become distorted.
11. What is the difference between an audio track and an audio clip?
An "audio track" refers to a complete, continuous audio recording, like a full song or
dialogue in podcast, while an "audio clip" is a short, specific segment extracted from a
larger audio recording.
5.3 Record your podcast.
1.How to record more than one track of audio?
We can add more than one track in the audacity software. Go to tracks menu and
select the add a new track option. The new track will be added and sound record will
start after the end of the first segment.
2. What do you mean by trim?
We can trim the tracks. This means we delete any unwanted silence at the beginning
and at the end of the track.
3. Write the steps for trimming the tracks.
a. chooses the selection tool and select the region
b. chooses track start to cursor
c. the selected are will be highlighted and press the delete button.
 d. now the voice will start straight away.
4. How to edit the audio in a track?
Use the selection tool to place the cursor and highlight areas of the wave form.
Use the playback option for your selection is correct. Then press the delete button
5.How will you move audio in a track?
Use the time shift tool and this will make you to move audio in a track. This process
will reduce the gap and we can hear the records without any delay.
