SESSION 4: CREATING TABLE OF CONTENT


AIM: Create and customize table of content.
PROCEDURE:
Prepare a document with different headings and apply a table
of content.
1) Go to Insert menu > Table of Content and Index >
Table of Content, Index or Bibliography option.
2) In the dialog box of the similar name, in the Title tab,
specify the number of the levels of headings as required.
3) Protect against manual changes checkbox keeps the
table from being modified like common text.
4) Click OK.

five time zones and borders fourteen countries by land.[j] With an area of nearly 9.6 million
square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third-largest country by total land area.[k] The

Japan[a] is an island country in East Asia. It is in the northwest Pacific Ocean and is bordered
on the west by the Sea of Japan, extending from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north toward
the East China Sea, Philippine Sea, and Taiwan in the south. Japan is a part of the Ring of
Fire, and spans an archipelago of 14,125 islands, with the four main islands
being Hokkaido, Honshu (the "mainland"), Shikoku, and Kyushu. Tokyo is the country's

with Belgium and Luxembourg to the north, Germany to the north east, Switzerland to the
east, Italy and Monaco to the south east, Andorra and Spain to the south, and a maritime

UK includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland, and

South Africa, officially the Republic of South Africa (RSA or R.S.A.), is

Nigeria,[a] officially the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a country in West Africa.[9] It is


situated between the Sahel to the north and the Gulf of Guinea to the south in the Atlantic
Ocean. It covers an area of 923,769 square kilometres (356,669 sq mi). With a population of
more than 230 million, it is the most populous country in Africa, and the world's sixth-most
populous country. Nigeria borders Niger in the north, Chad in the northeast, Cameroon in the
east, and Benin in the west. Nigeria is a federal republic comprising 36 states and the Federal
Capital Territory, where the capital, Abuja, is located. The largest city in Nigeria is Lagos,
one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world and the largest in Africa.

Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya (Swahili: Jamhuri ya Kenya), is a country in East
Africa. With a population of more than 47.6 million in the 2019 census,[12] Kenya is
the 28th-most-populous country in the world[7] and 7th most populous in Africa. Kenya's
capital and largest city is Nairobi, while its oldest and second-largest city, is the major port
city of Mombasa, situated on Mombasa Island in the Indian Ocean and the surrounding
mainland. Mombasa was the capital of the British East Africa Protectorate, which included
most of what is now Kenya and southwestern Somalia, from 1889 to 1907.
