BRIDGE VISIBILITY FORWARD

Length OverallLoa:[m]
Length between perpendiculars Lbp : [m]
Height of conning position Dc : [m]
Height of position ‘S’ marked as Ds. Ds : [m]
Horizontal distance from conning position to position ‘S’ KcKs : [m]
Horizontal distance from FP to position ‘S’ KfKs : [m]

Note: Where there are containers or other cargo on deck, the position ‘S’
should be considered in respect of worst visibility. If the position ‘S’ is aft of
the fore perpendicular, then KfKs is to be taken as a negative value.

Maximum bridge invisible length forward :

For sequences where bridge visibility forward is affected the Master should
take into account the guidance in section 3.4.

SLOSHING (where applicable)

The use of the sequential method will result in partial fillings of ballast tanks
or holds which, when contemplated for sea-going conditions, could pose a
risk of significant loads due to sloshing induced by the ship motions.

BALLAST INERTIA (applicable to Bulk Carriers)

For bulk carriers, the combination of full ballast holds and empty topside
and/or hopper side tanks may induce dynamic loads, which could exceed the
capability of the sloped bulkhead structures and transverse ring web
structures.
