Part 1: Introduction to the Future Perfect Tense

The future perfect tense is used to talk about an action that will be completed before
a specific time in the future. It is formed with the following structure:

Subject + will + have + past participle of the verb.

Examples:

 By 2025, I will have graduated from high school.


 In two hours, they will have finished the project.

Part 2: Complete the Sentences

Fill in the blanks with the correct form of the future perfect tense.

1. By the time you arrive, I will have finished (finish) my homework.


2. In two years, we will have traveled (travel) to five different countries.
3. She will have graduated (graduate) by the end of next summer.
4. By next week, they will have built (build) the new bridge.
5. By the time the movie starts, we will have bought (buy) the tickets.

Part 3: Correct the Mistakes

Each sentence below contains a mistake. Rewrite the sentences correctly.

1. By the time he will arrive, we will have eaten dinner.

2. She will have leave by 6 o’clock.
She will have left by 6 o’clock.
3. They will have done their homework when their parents will come back home.

Choose the correct future perfect form for each sentence.

Part 6: Future Perfect vs. Future Simple

Read the sentences below. Choose whether the future perfect or future simple tense
should be used. Explain your choice.
