SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN SIMULATION

Scene: Presentation of the School Improvement Plan Personas:

TEACHER MJ: An experienced teacher who is receptive to fresh perspectives. Last meeting I
said that I want you to create a school improvement plan, so today you are going to present your
plan in the class. So bago tayo magsimula ipakikilala ko sa inyo ang ating mga presenter, so the
the first presenters are Camille and Sherwin that focuses on a student leader who prioritizes the
welfare of students while, the second presenters are Angela and Jenalyn that focuses on a student
leader who prioritizes academic success and lastly, we have Gezryl and Glyza that will present a
student leader with an emphasis on community and school culture. So now, let’s start the
presentation.

SHERWIN: Teacher Mj, good morning. In order to improve student outcomes and overall
school performance, we are here today to present our school improvement plan, which centers on
a student-centered approach.

CAMILLE: Improving student well-being is the focus of our first pillar, a nurturing learning
environment. We suggest holding frequent check-in meetings with mentors and counselors,
setting aside specific areas for mindfulness and relaxation, and providing training on emotional
intelligence and stress management. Students’ nervousness will be properly addressed, and their
capacity to concentrate on their studies will be enhanced.

SHERWIN: We’ll monitor student participation in extracurricular activities, attendance, and


survey responses. The results of standardized tests and GPA will also be used to track academic
advancement.

TEACHER MJ: Thank you, Sherwin and Camille. That’s a good plan for the improvement of
our school. And now, let’s hear the presentation of Jenalyn and Angela.
ANGELA: Hello everyone, I am Angela Lalo, one of the students leader who discuss the plan
about promoting academic success. Promoting academic success is a many-sided approach
aimed at helping students achieve their full potential in education.

JENALYN: Hello everyone, I am Jenalyn, one of the student leaders who present about the
school improvement plan. So sabi nga ni Ms. Lalo our plan is about Promoting academic
success. So paano nga ba natin ipo-promote yung ganitong klaseng plan, sa paanong paraan natin
magaguide or matutulungan yung mga educators, students and also paano maiimpluwensyuhan
ng plan na ‘to yung school? So our topic are focused on establishing a strong school community,
encouraging academic performance, and creating a supportive learning environment. These are
the three main pillars, when we say pillars ibig sabihin ito yung foundation na pinagbabasehan
ng plan natin na ito. Lets talk about first the establishing a strong school community, dito ay
maasring gawin ay mag-organize regular na malawakan na school events , katulad ng mga
community service project, cultural festival, and also yung pagkakaroon ng teacher-parent
meetings. Itong mga events na ito is nakakatulong para magkakaroon ng unity yung mga
students, teacher or staffs and also yung families. By means of unity ,makakatulong ito para
makapag-build ng strong school community.

JENALYN: Now let’s proceed to encouraging academic performance,dito we implement


personalized learning plans for students, ensuring that each learner receives the appropriate
support and challenges to meet their academic potential. So papasok din dito yung pagkakaroon
ng regular assessments and feedback sessions para sa mga students, where in yung mga students
ay matutulungan sila na ma-track nila yung kanilangnprogress and ma- identify nila yung areas
ng kanilang strength and weaknesses, in terms of academic, to encourage the students na mag
execll sa pa sa kanilang academics performance, we promoting a program where in yung
program na ito ay yung ire-recognize yung mga students na nagkaroon ng mataas na
average,like for example yung mga students na nagkaroon ng average 90 pataas,ito ay
irerecognize as academic achiever, by promoting this program, makakatulong rin ito para ma-
encourage natin yung mga Students na i-improve pa nila yung kagalingan nila sa academics.
Yung ganitong program is such an inspiration for those students who also want to be recognize.

JENALYN: Next let’s talk about the creating a supportive learning environment,dito we offer
counseling services, mindfulness sessions, ensure students na ma-feel nila emotionally and
psychologically yung support ng school or ng mga staff rito yung kanilang in academic journey.
ANGELA: We have also second pillar which is yung academic excellence, so yung pillar na ito
ay ine- emphasizes rito yung importance ng academic excellence sa educational approaches.
The focus here is on individualized instruction, which tailors learning experiences to meet the
needs and interests of each student. So instead na a one-size-fits-all approach, the goal is to
provide flexibility in how students learn, encouraging them to engage with material in ways that
suit their unique learning styles and needs. This, in turn, can improve their academic
performance and motivation. Ilan sa mga strategy na maaaring i-implement ay yung flexible
curriculum, technology- enhanced learning and peer tutoring.

ANGELA: Let’s talk about Flexible Curriculum, in this strategy,it allows students to explore
subjects at their own pace and choose learning pathways that align with their strengths or
interests. For example, a student with a deep interest in science could focus more on hands-on
experiments and projects, while another student passionate about literature could delve into
advanced reading and writing tasks. This adaptability helps keep students engaged and
motivated.

ANGELA: So now let’s talk about Technology-Enhanced Learning,this is the Educational


software, apps, and online platforms can provide students with academic success. For example,
Platforms like Khan Academy assist students by allowing them to progress through the material
at their own pace. And now let’s talk about Peer Tutoring, Peer tutoring offers students an
opportunity to receive support from classmates, peer tutoring can be effective because students
might explain concepts to each other in ways that are more accessible and understandable. For
Example: A student who excels in reading comprehension could volunteer to tutor a classmate
who is struggling with reading skills.

In summary, Academic excellence is achieved through personalized instruction, technology, and


collaborative learning, fostering an inclusive and engaging environment that maximizes each
student’s potential.

TEACHER MJ: This plan is thorough. How are you going to assess these projects’ success?

ANGELA: To evaluate the effect of our initiatives on the general school climate, we will also
use qualitative data, such as student reflections and instructor observations.
TEACHER MJ: Thank you, Jenalyn and Angela. And now let’s proceed to our last presenters.

GEZRYL: We think that by giving students’ agency and voice top priority, we can make
learning more interesting and productive for all. Increasing student participation in school, I
think decision making is a key components of our third pillar which is fostering a healthy school
community.

GEZRYL: So how we can foster a healthy school community? In order to give our students
enriched experience, we suggest that we can create a student leadership council that aim to
empower students by fostering leadership, collaboration and responsibilities. For example,
joining an organization like Lsg, Usg etc.

GLYZA: The next one Is planning a school wide activities that honor diversity and inclusivity
just like University meet where all the athletes can showcase their talent in sports, pride month
for the LGBTQ+ community, and multicultural day where we can celebrate different cultures
through food, music, and dance.

Teacher Mj: Your attention to detail and student-centered approach are impressive. This strategy
exhibits a thorough comprehension of the fundamentals of educational leadership. I think that
putting these techniques into practice will greatly enhance student performance and outcomes. I
can’t wait to see this proposal implemented.
