A DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION 6

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Identify the three main type of exercise
b. Appreciate the importance of regular exercise in maintaining a healthy
lifestyle.
c. Demonstrate proper execution of at least one aerobic exercise, resistance
exercise and stretching exercise.

exercises and I would like you to describe
what you see.

Very good, how about this one?
So these 3 pictures are the 3 types of
Exercises.
The first picture is called Aerobic
Exercises.
(Read the visual Aid)
It means it is a physical activity that
increases the heart rate and the amount
of oxygen the body uses.

aerobic exercise is an exercise that


moves all parts of the human body.

Like for example;


Running, biking, walking, Dancing

Jumping rope teacher


What else? Playing basketball
Swimming
Do you know how to swim?

In the second picture it is what we called


Resistance Exercises. (Read the visual
Aid).
It means increasing muscle strength by
making your muscles work against a
weight or force.
For example dumbbells, dumbbells can
grow your muscle, or can burn fats. It can
also increase your ability to generate
force or strength .

Lastly, the stretching exercise.


Increase the elasticity of muscles and
tendons surrounding the joint inorder to
improve flexibility.
Ex. static exercise, ballistic, dynamic.

stretching exercises are relevant to


dancing, sports and athletes. If you notice
before the athletes play, they stretch first
to make them flexible.

2. Skill Learning Practice


The teacher will start demonstrating the
types of exercises.
Aerobic Exercise: Teacher demonstrates
jumping jacks, jogging in place, dancing,
stair climbing,

Resistance Exercise:Teacher
demonstrates squats and push-ups, becip
curles, planks, tricep dips(chair or bench)
Students follow.
Stretching Exercise: Teacher leads
static and dynamic stretching routines.

I will Divide the class into small groups.
Each group selects one type of exercise
and practices it.
