Libya opens investigation into slave

auctions following CNN report

By the reporter Lauren Said-Moorhouse, November 17, 2017

Libyan authorities have launched a formal investigation into slave auctions in

the country following an exclusive CNN report .
Priorities of the investigation are not only to convict those responsible for
these inhumane acts, but also to identify the location of those who have been
sold in order to bring them to safety and return them to their countries of
origin."
At a property outside the capital of Tripoli, CNN witnessed a dozen men being
sold like commodities - some auctioned off for as little as $400.
CNN was told of auctions at nine locations across Libya, but many more are
believed to take place each month. CNN believes some of the auction sites are
in territory controlled by the GNA Government of National Accord, but others
are not; the GNA does not control the entire country.
GNA is an interim government for Libya that was formed under the terms of
the Libyan Political Agreement, after the end of the civil war basically after the
death of the president "kaddafi"... a United Nations-led initiative, signed on 17
December 2015
The country still remains greatly divided across political, tribal and ideological
lines

freedom and at the same time they began to punish them so as their families
heard the pains and send the money of 800$
