Fi rst off, we LOVE coupl es sessi ons! They are
one of our favori te sessi ons to capture because

MAKE
Our styl e to coupl es sessi ons i s a very rel axed,
carefree and go wi th the fl ow approach. We
provi de l ots of games and prompts to faci l i tate
genui ne and fun reacti ons and we often capture
a l ot of i n-between moments rather than
shooti ng a " perfect pose" . We encourage our
coupl es to i ncorporate thi ngs they l i ke to do or
pl aces they l i ke to go and to treat the sessi on
l i ke a date. I t can be coffee, beer, wal ks i n the
ci ty, a bi ke ri de, or al l of the above! The
opti ons are endl ess wi th a coupl es sessi on and
we hel p you pl an i t al l the way through!
CHOOSING A DATE & TIME
Choosing a date and time for your
couples/engagement shoot can be a little tricky,
especially in the midst of wedding planning! We
advise our couples to book their session at least
6-9 months out from there wedding date.
However, you can always do it earlier or later than
this depending on your wants and needs!
If you are able to do your session during the
summer months, we recommend doing the
session later in the evening. We recommend this
to have the session while its not so hot out and to
catch that good golden light! If you are scheduling
your session during the winter months, we
recommend doing the session at sunrise or in the
mid afternoon to catch the sunset or even doing
an in home or indoor session to beat the cold!
Sessions last anywhere from an hour to three
hours depending on which package you choose
and the location(s) you choose but we will work
with you and let you know how much time we
think you need :)
PICKING A LOCATION
Picking a location is SUPER important! Your location will determine a lot of how your photos will
turn out and we want you to have the style of photos you are looking for!
We have shot in many locations based off style, weather, etc. and we will help you 100% to pick
out the best location! We can do beach vibes, downtown vibes or whatever vibes you're wanting!
We recommend places with lots of natural light and places that can give you multiple places to
shoot. We also recommend reaching out to places if you have a certain place in mind to make
sure they allow photographers and if there is any permit needed ahead of time so we can make
sure we are good to go for that spot (for example. a bar, museum, etc.)
Also, we recommend choosing a location that is meaningful to you and your partner. If you guys
met on the beach and love going on a beach walk, then lets do the beach! If you guys like
adventuring and want to rent a sailboat or go hike somewhere epic, we can do that too! The more
meaningful the location is to you, the more effortless the session will be and photos will be so
genuine and authentic to you both.
If you have no clue what you want, we recommend you using Pinterest to gather inspo, and then
you can shoot your ideas over to us and we will help you brainstorm locations that we think would
fit what you are looking for!!
CHOOSING WHAT TO WEAR
Outfits are SUPER important to photos and they play a big role in how
your photos will turn out!
We know choosing an outfit can be difficult, so here are some tips for
when considering what you want to wear:
Wear clothing that is neutral and follow a color palette
Neutrals can range from a wide variety of colors! They can be shades of
browns, blues, pinks, greens, blacks, whites, and so on. When you stick to
neutrals, it helps you coordinate your outfits with your partner a lot easier
and it will match almost every environment you are taking photos in. If
you need help, google neutral color palettes and try to find clothing
within a certain palette you really like!
Wear something you are comfortable in
This is KEY!!! We want you guys to feel 100% like you and we encourage
our couples to wear whatever they are most comfortable in. If you're a
jean gal, go for it! If you love a dress and a hat, we are here for it! Don't
force yourself to wear something you feel you have too because the
more comfortable you are, the better your photos will be!
Wear something that allows for movement
During the shoot, you will be moving around a lot! We use a lot of
movement in our sessions to help facilitate natural and fun photos, so we
advise our couples to wear something they are able to run around in and
move around in comfortably!
Consider the location when choosing an outfit
You want your outfits to fit the location and vibe you are wanting from
your session. For example, if you are wanting a classy, downtown
engagement session, I would opt for wearing a white dress and your
partner wearing some type of black suit/ pant and sports jacket. If you
want super fun and laid back beach vibes, I would opt for jeans, a simple
flowy dress, or a jean jacket. When you match the location with your
outfits, it helps the scene come together so nicely and your photos have
a nice cohesiveness to it.
