Force Method for Structural Analysis

The Force Method, developed by Maxwell and refined by Mohr and Muller-Breslau, is used to analyze statically indeterminate beams, frames, and trusses by ensuring compatibility of displacements. It involves determining reactions, internal forces, and applying compatibility equations to ensure that displacements due to redundants are compatible. The method requires the identification of redundant forces and the formulation of compatibility equations based on the degree of indeterminacy.
