File Types and Data

What is a
computer file?
 "A computer file is a basic piece of storage
Definition: that can hold any type of data. It can be of
different types, depending of the containing
information and its usage."
Types of
computer files
 1. Documents. These are files which can be exemplified by
notepad, Open Office Excel, MS Word, and others.
 2. Program files are the executable files.
 3. System files - these are files which you don't use but they must
be on your computer for it to function well (files inside a hidden
Types of Files Windows folder, registry files, and a few others are great
example).
 4. Multimedia files. These are your movies, music and other similar
things.
 5. Archive files - these files are compressed folders, back-ups,
archives and more.
Types of files,  Documents: .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx, sxw, odt, pdf, txt,
rtf, ods, xlr
data and
 Program files: .exe, .com, .Apk, .jar .
extensions
 System files: .cab, .dll, .ico, .sys.
 Multimedia ffiles: .avi, .mov, .wmv, .jpg, .gif, .tif, .png, .mp3, .mp4
 Archive files: .zip, .7z, .rar, .iso, .bak, .dmg

and kept as data, and transformed to
become information.
Structured Data  Files are data, but How do we collect and
structure data?

 Create a table like the template (below) with the information of at
