down for stem. Trim end to 2.5 cm.
Working around loop (see illustrations), join with sc next to secured twist on loop, work sc
around loop covering completely, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Finishing
1: Stiffen Angel with fabric stiffener according to manufacturer’s instructions leaving Head
unstiffened; squeeze out excess liquid. Place Angel over Styrofoam cone covered with
plastic wrap; shape and let dry completely.

2: Stiffen Wings with fabric stiffener according to manufacturer’s instructions, squeeze out
excess liquid. Place on flat surface covered with plastic wrap. Shape and let dry
completely.
3: Center and glue Wings on back of Angel’s Gown.
4: Glue one end on each Arm over rnds 12 and 13 at each side of Gown; glue 1/2" at other
end of Arms together in a praying position at center front (see photo).
5: Glue stem on Halo to center back of Head.

This little angel ornament is fun to make and would make a great addition to your
angel collection. It starts at the head then goes to the bottom of the skirt. Then the wings are
added on some skipped stitches on round 11. The halo is made last to top it off.
Materials Needed: Southmaid Size 10 Crochet Cotton in white.
Size 7 steel crochet hook
1/2 of a cotton ball

Stiffening: optional: I used Southmaid Crochet cotton which is somewhat stiff to work with
anyway so I did not stiffen this at all but you can if you want to. I like a soft and supple angel
on my tree when I make this style of Angel ornament. I did hair spray on the halo a bit though
so it would keep it shape without being too stiff.
*Poker Stick: use some sort of poker stick to help stuff the cotton ball into the head of the
angel. I have one that was actually in my bag of polyester fiberfill. It has a narrow end that
fits perfectly inside the little hole at the neck of the angel. Any poker stick will do though.
You can Sharpen the end of a 0.5 cm dowel down so it has a blunt point.

Finishing
1: For Hair, cut 60 strands of lt. Brown thread, each 6” long. Wrap a separate strand of thread
around center of all strands and tie securely. Fold top portion of strands down over tie.
Arrange and shape upper portion of strands to cover lower portion. When you have the
desired shape, glue to head of Angel. When glue dries, trim ends of all strands (see photos.)

2: Slide Arms through arm openings on Rnd 12. Glue in place and allow to dry.
3: Place Halo and Wings on blocking surface. Spray with starch, shape and allow to dry. If
using Song Book, place on blocking surface, spray with starch, fold in half and allow to dry
flat. If using Wreath, place Wreath and Bow on blocking surface, spray with starch, shape and
allow to dry.

4: Glue Wings to back of Angel. Glue Halo to back of head.

5: If using Wreath, glue Bow and red seed beads to Wreath. Allow to dry.
6: Glue either Song Book or Wreath to each Angels hands (open Book as shown in photo.)

7: For hanger (optional) cut an 8” length of thread to match trim color of dress. Fold strand in
half and glue cut ends to bottom of Halo. Allow to dry.

Make them on the side of the head, using last row to slip stitch and continue work
I made braids, waving the thread to first three stitches on each side, then making
braids and folding them beneath the hair. Added wool bows on top of them.
Same way you can make curls. Slip stitch to side stitch, chain desired length for curl to
be and either double or triple stitch to one chain stitch in order to reach curly look.
Repeat that for two or three stitches one each side.
For pony tails, make little tassels and sew on sides.
Angel Wing Pattern: Ch7

If your RIGHT handed you normally work to the lef t, in this case you will be work to the

Wings can be sewn in middle up spine of doll and wings using the dc on back side.
Just sew threw the loops in the back of the wing, to back of dress. Placing the wings as high
or low as you like pin in place and sew up middle from first feather to middle V shape of
your sc. If you wanted to put some furr y yarn behind the doll in front of the wings , before
you sew down it will look nice [Link] firm to hang from if you choose to put a loop on the
back of the wing, as an ordainment. I prefer the top of the head myself for that.

Hair make 10. **optional , your choice to do it this way or any other way you
like.**you can make the hair as you like.

Ch 53, dc in 4th from hook, 4 dc in same place, 4 in next, 3 in next, 2 in next, 1 in next
then back up to 3, change it up as you go. For more or less curl. and so on tell the end of the
chain, last dc work threw head work threw last st as follows yo, go threw last loop on chain,
now draw threw head around first row top of head, pick one, yo, draw threw last 2 loops on
hook, push hook threw head again (where you want it to lay) yo, draw up loop, draw threw all
loops on hook. So both sides of , the chain side, the top dc side both connect to head.
If this method confuses you too much simply sl st to top of head the end of the chain
after working over it. or start from the head with a sl st on head and work chain. If you want
to start the 2nd curl and not cut off you can do that it will work. Just chain 53 to start your 2nd
curl and work back to head and attach with last. You can try more than 2. Curls don't need to
be really curly for this. 3 curls on each side of head on top Row. 4 curls across the back of the
head.

Smaller hair **optional , your choice to do it this way or any other way you like.**
make 6. thinner. For thickness of hair. Put any where you want. Ch 53, 4 dc, in first st, 4 dc,
in 2nd st, work hdc same method to end and attach where needed.
After working hair and smaller hair in For any bald spots left, sl st your yarn to any bald
spot and chain to any length and cut.

Face eyes and lips: optional, your choice to do it this way or any other way you like.

Lips using Dark Red magic ring, or ch 2, (in last loop from hook) sc, ch1, sl st to
center, ch 1, sc, ch 1, sl st to center cut top lip made.
Bottom lip ~ in Light Red 3 sc, in ring cut.

Eyes using Black thread stitch in eyes, a U shape. For sleepy eyes. Thread for both
lips and eyes can be poked threw head to back under hair so it's not seen and tie off. Not too
tight or your stitches will change. Tuck any knots left under top of wing.

Halo ch 25, sc around sl st. cut. Use ends to tie to hair sew in, weaving in ends or tie
off.

Small Rose ch 20, sc in 6th from hook, ch 3, sc , (to 3rd st from hook) across. Sl st,
cut roll together and sew it together and on to head with a your sewing needle, a long string.

Leaf ch 3, dc in last st,Tr cut, sew down near rose weave threads to back of head
under hair and tie off cut.

Heart ch 4, sl st ring 2 dc, 2 hdc, sc,ch 2, sc,2 hdc,2 dc, ch 3, sl st to center cut tie off
threads together and sew down to dress as many as you like of all of these (rose, leaf, heart)

Pattern Notes: Head, body, wings and halo are stitched the same for each angel. Individual

Finishing
Stuff head with polyester fiberfill and cinch neck. Dip in stiffener; do not soak head.
Cut tip off of small funnel, leaving about 1 1/2". Shape angel over funnel; let dry.
Stiffen halo, then glue to head.
Referring to photo, glue matching flowers and leaf to angels.
