Checking of attendance
Review past lesson
Do you know now how to test different parts of electrical
components?
“Yes sir’’
A. ACTIVITY
Before we proceed to our topic, let us have first an Activity
Game called “4 Pics one Word”.
You will take a look at set of four pictures displayed
together and identify the one word that connects all the
images.
Are you familiar with this game class?
“Yes sir’’
“motor’’
“Capacitor’’
“Electric fan’’
“Repair’’
“Step by Step’’
Class I think you have already an idea what is our topic for
today,
“Yes sir’’
“Repairing an electric fan’’
B. ANALYSIS
Today class our topic is all about procedures in repairing
an electric fan.
What is our first step repairing an electric fan?
“Conduct a visual inspection’’
How about the second step?
“Check the plug with
ohmmeter’’
Deflection occur in multi tester means that electrical
section of the electric fan is good.
No deflection means a fault in the circuit.
Next the third step?
“Test the electrical components
of the electric fan.
What electrical components do you think you going to
check?
switch, motor, thermal, cutout
and capacitor.
And the fourth step?
“Rotate the shaft with you
fingers’’
To determine the free play of the shaft, lubricate if
necessary.
The last step?
“Plug the electric fan and
observe its operation’’
What are the safety precautions when repair electronically-
controlled domestic appliances.
“Do not plug the ac cord when
measuring resistance’’
What else?
“Avoid touching the metalic
parts when the ac cord of the
electric fan plug on ’’
Okay! That’s all for the procedures when we are repairing
an electric fan and don’t forget also the applying of safety
measures.
C. APPLICATION
For group activity I will be group you into four
[Link] group will be given a electric fan for you to
repair according to the following procedures and in a clean
one whole sheet of paper write down the defectives of it.
D. ABSTRACTION
Based from our lesson and your experience in the activity,
who can give me the procedures in repairing an electric
fan?
1. Conduct a visual inspection.
2. Check the plug with
ohmmeter.
3. Test the electrical
components of the electric fan.
4. Rotate the shaft with you
fingers.
5. Plug the electric fan and
observe its operation.
How about when applying safety precautions?
What should we do?
1. Do not plug the ac cord
when measuring resistance.
2. Avoid touching the metalic
parts when the ac cord of the
electric fan plug on.
Okay! Know do you understood the procedure when
repairing an electric fan?
“Yes sir’’
IV. EVALUATION:
Arrange the following procedures according to there correct order by placing numbers beside it.
1. Conduct a visual inspection.
2. Check the plug with ohmmeter.
3. Test the electrical components of the electric fan.
4. Rotate the shaft with you fingers.
5. Plug the electric fan and observe its operation.
V. ASSIGNMENT:
Bring the needed tools and materials in repairing electric fan.
