Habitats

1-what’s a habitat?

A habitat is the natural environment home where animals live.

Different animals live in different habitats. They use their habitat to find their needs such as water,

Food and air to stay alive.

There are five types of habitat:

Polar Regions Deserts Grasslands Tropical Forest Oceans


Polar Bear Camels Lion Jaguar Whale
Arctic Fox Fennel Fox Elephant Monkey Shark
Penguin Snake Giraffe Deer dolphin
Leopard

2-Animal’s adaptations:

Adaptation is the way an animal’s body helps it to survive in its habitat. Many animals are adapted to
live in their habitats.

These are some examples of animal’s adaptation:

Polar Bear:

They have adapted to live in the very cold polar regions of the arctic. Some of the polar bear’s
adaptations include:

1-Excellent sense of smell: to find the animals that it hunts.

2-thick while fur: to hide in snow and to keep warm.

3-strong legs: to run fast and to swim fast in icy water.

4- Think rough paws: to wall in slippery ice.

Camels:

They are adapted to live in very hot deserts, some of their adaptations include:

1-A hump on the camel’s back: stores fat so camel can go without food for a long time.

2-Long, thick eyelashes: protect the camel’s eyes from the sand and the sun.

3-Nosdtrils that can open and close: prevent the camel from breathing in sand.

4- A tough, leathery month: help the camel to chew tough, thorny plants

5- Tough leathery knee pads: help to kneel on the hot sand.

6-webbed feet with two toes: prevent from sinking in the sand.
