Objective/s
B. Performance Standards By the end of the Quarter, learners identify that plants and animals have
systems whose function is to keep them alive. They observe, describe, and create representations to
show how living things interact with their habitat, survive, and reproduce in specific environments. They
use flowcharts to show the feeding relationship among different organisms within a given environment.
C. Learning Competencies Use a drawing or diagram to classify some Philippine animals and
plants, based on their habitat: some live on land (terrestrial), live in water (aquatic) or fly in the air
(aerial).
• Identify some Philippine animals based on their habitat.
• Draw a habitat for the given Philippine Animals.
• Inculcate the importance of studying habitats of animals.

The teacher will present a picture of some animals’ body part and ask the students to identify the body
parts and their usage.
The teacher will observe the learners while doing the activity. The answer of the learners in the activity
will be presented during the class discussion and feedback will be provided.

During/Lesson Proper
Developing Understanding of (Explain)
the Key Idea/Stem The teacher will disguise herself as a traveler who’s been in 3 regions of the Philippines. The teacher
(Aims) will tell the story about her travel experience and the animals he met along. The teacher will encourage
the students to join the gallery walk that was prepared ahead of time. The Gallery composes of pictures
of the traveler during his exploration. The teacher will give each student a ticket for the gallery that they
will fill up with observations and awards.
The teacher will ask the students to remember and take down notes regarding the animals and places
they observed.
