ICT vision statement for kiongongi primary school;

To be a leading academy institution refering quality education to improve learners achievement by using
ICT in new creative ways across the whole curriculum.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOl

i. identify verificational ICT needs of both the school and the the community.
ii. Access the resource and skills necessary to implement their school vision of educational
development.
iii. Who delays rather than creative models of instruction to generate a sense of fulfillment and
create expression.
iv. Give pupils opportunity to develop higher level skills in a city to develop their proficiency for
today's ICT expression.
v. Reexamine broaden and revised educational objective.
vi. Fully integrate ICT throughout the curriculum to improve and support the way we learn and

INTRODUCTION

Kiongongi primary school recognizes they need to provide all its peoples with computer literacy skills so
that they will be able to maximize the opportunity presented to them by information age in Kenya and
abroad.

Teaching at all levels of education system must keep embraced of the potential created by the new
technologies for the process of teaching and learning.

It's' increasingly important that a basic appreciation and understanding more than information and
communication technology is fostered in young people from their earliest in school up to the completion
of the education

CURRENT ICT STATUS

The school current has;

a) one project to
b) 2 teachers digital devices
c) 36 learners digital devices tablets
d) One server
e) One computer room though underdeveloped

ICT ADOPTION DATE

Early adoption

The school first embraced ICT development in 2017 through the governments initiative of digital
learning program in all Kenyan schools. After 2017 the learning didn't pick well due to limited knowledge
and teach technical skills from teachers and improper infrastructures in school However after equipping
the computer room and supplying power in 2019 ICT picked and the school has continually strived to
develop a base for information and communication technology.

Desktop and laptop

Apart from tablets there is an urgent need to purchase more laptops and the stops to make a computer
lab fully [Link] will make learning more interactive and [Link] head teachers hence
requested to mobilize resources to support the said purchases

Adoption of wired connection


When a computer lab is established, a wired internet network should be set up to to be operated
through a server in the computer [Link] will use the web to project research downloading text
and images or wide range of topics.

The staff will use the web to locate relevant online content, lesson ideas, content images etc.

Adoption of wireless printer

A wireless network printers to be appreciated operational in their [Link] will help increase efficient
in work.

Digital camera

The school to purchase a digital camera to assist in taking photographs of a wide range of events and to
video record happenings in the learning encounters

Adoption of interactive whiteboards.

They'll need to install interactive whiteboards throughout the school including the new junior school
block to make this innovative and exciting classroom available to all pupils from the earliest age
possible.A special requests therefore made to the board of management, parents and other
stakeholders to spearhead fundraising initiatives to make this possible

Adoption of the school website

There's need to create and launch a school website to enable teachers to regularly and update content
per class and by learning area. This will be made accessible to pupils and parents at home to find
activities aligned with classroom.

MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING

i. Interact into integrate appropriate ICT activities through the school plan
ii. Always have a member of stuff to assume they're all over ICT coordinating teachers
iii. Regularly audit the software and hardware to make other aware of it especially teachers
iv. Continue assessing the cost and usage of the various printers.

i. Continue to purchase and upgrade laptops for using classroom when fans are available.
ii. Install wireless internet network and connection with fund are available.
iii. Seek more funds to purchase digital video hardware.
iv. Supply iPads for educational purpose on a faced basis as fans are available.
ICT CURRICULUM

a. Source and buy educational software.


b. Source and by additional software titles to switch the needs and individual learners e.g special
needs children.
c. Expand the use of word processing to improve students creativity in writing skills.
d. Work or collaboratively as a staff to ensure the school ICT program is age appropriate.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

i. Children should access the internet in supervised situation.


ii. Teachers must notify the ICT coordinator if a child is assessed or prohibited site.
iii. Children should not ave their own email account.
iv. Children should not give out any personal details like address, phone numbers or even
surnames.
v. All cameras should be stored with one teacher to track their use throughna sign in and sign out
sheet.
vi. Each teacher should be responsible for downloading their own photographs after using the
cameras.
vii. Laptops and cameras are stored in a storage room or a computer lab.
viii. Whiteboards, computers and laptops should be plugged out each afternoon as soon as they
teacher a finishes with them to avoid damage by lightening or an electric fault.
