I am Mark Dhave C.
Castillo I'm 18 year’s old I live in San Juan Baño Arayat Pampanga and
5 year's from now I want to see my self a teacher because I love teaching and when I saw the
teachers teaching childrens in San Juan Baño High School I motivated to be a teacher. I finished
my elementary school in San Juan Baño Elementary School and for now I'm graduating
secondary school in San Juan Baño High School, before I graduate in this school year I'm going
to tell a story about something memorable that happened to me in my highschool Era.
When I finished elementary school, I was excited to enter 7th grade because it was my first
time, so I was really excited. When school started, I immediately checked my section and ended
up in 7-Nobility, and my adviser was Ma'am Marycris J. Evangelista. Before the class started,
Ma'am Cris first chose the officers, and I was selected as the escort of 7-nobility. After three
days of classes, I was suddenly informed that I would be transferred to another section. Three of
us were transferred to 7-humility; each section of grade 7 had one transfer, and the ones who
were transferred with me were John Patrick and Vanne. On my first day in humility, I was
downcast because I had no friends there, unlike in nobility where I had friends.
After two weeks, we formed a group in the classroom called Wild Teens. They were my first
friends in humility, and we often visited various hangouts in San Juan Baño. When we had a
performance task for the Sinukuan Festival, we immediately got choreography from Edson
Evangelista, he is a dancer and tattoo artist. Edson taught us for one week, and after practice each
day, we made props for the festival. When we performed at the Sinukuan festival, we danced in
the street because the school was new and we didn't have a covered court yet. Edson was there
supporting us, and our performance task was a success, earning us a high score.
When the Sinukuan festival ended, we bonded outside and Edson invited us to join their
dance group called Arayat Pride Dance Group (APDR), which performs all hip-hop dances. We
became their juniors and almost 7-humility students us joined the APDR. We were taught for
two weeks, and just in time for the fiesta in San Juan Baño, our leader Jimrix Soriano decided
that we would have an intermission at the event that would be held in our barangay. And that day
came, and we had an intermission in front of many people. After that, we were extremely
nervous and happy, and we performed our intermission well in front of a large crowd.
When I was in grade 8, this was the saddest event in my high school life because of the spread
of the Covid-19 virus, which was the reason why we couldn't have face-to-face classes and had
to switch to modular learning. This is also the reason why we, the junior APDR, were affected by
this illness because we were no longer allowed to go out and our outings were limited if we did
not follow the rules, and we could not go out without a vaccination card. I got lazy studying here
because the classes were modular, and no matter how much I read the module, if there was no
explanation, I couldn't understand it, so I just copied from the answer key. Studying face-to-face
is still different because it's actual, and I learned the lessons well explained by the teachers.
When my mom got my report card, my grades were really low because I got lazy with my
studies due to the modules that I couldn't understand no matter how much I studied, and this
continued until I reached grade 9.
When the pandemic ended, it was just in time for the start of the school year in grade 10, and
I ended up in section Apollo with Sir Chopper S. Cubacub as my adviser. Here, I experienced
interacting with classmates again, and I was happy because classes were face-to-face, even
though the junior APDR group had already been disbanded. Here, we also formed a group inside
the classroom and its name is MILO. Our group enjoys going out and having food trips at
various places. Here, I once again experienced joyful moments in my life because of the
pandemic that I endured for two years. But it was also ruined because of the arguments between
my friends over a small problem.
When we had a field trip, I joined because it was my first time going to Manila. I had to
persuade my mom five times, and in the end, she allowed me to go, albeit reluctantly, because
she didn't want me to go fearing something bad might happen. Just one night before our field
trip, Vanne, Mark Erielle, Ajay, and I decided to sleep over at Sir Chops' place. Because we were
so excited about the field trip, Sir Chops agreed to let us stay over, and we even did laundry at
his place for what we would wear on the field trip. The next day was our field trip and we all
woke up together and went to school together to ride the van that would take us.
Our first destination was Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City. I didn't expect that there
would be so many students with us, and I took pictures at every corner of Quezon Memorial
Circle. When we arrived at Intramuros, we were disappointed because we couldn't get off and
take pictures due to the rain. The happiest places we visited were Sea Side Moa and SM Moa.
We strolled around SM Moa and ate at Jollibee with Sir Clark Bautista, Ma'am Claudia Venzon,
and my other companions in the van, and we also explored Sea Side Moa. The last place we
visited was Star City. I didn't enjoy it here because I couldn't ride the rides due to the long lines
of students waiting. So, I just went outside, went to the van, and waited for the time to go home.
The last memorable thing that happened to me during my grade 10 era was our graduation.
This was our last time together because we were going to part ways as classmates, and it was
also the last few days that Sir Chops was here because he was leaving the country to work
abroad. This is also the first time my dad will be with me on stage because every time I go on
stage, my mom is the one accompanying me.
In my 11th grade, my memories here include participating in the Provincial Jamboree in
Floridablanca Pampanga. We were there for one week and made friends with various student
representatives from their schools. I learned a lot from this camping trip, such as survival in the
mountains and being prepared at all times. The second one was participating in the cheerdance
handled by Ma'am Regine C. Cayanan. My role here was the spotter, and we got second place in
the Cheerdance for the Feast day of St. Catherine De Alexandria. The last memorable moment in
grade 11 was graduating with honors and receiving a medal. I was happy because I achieved a
90% average. This was the most memorable moment in my high school era because it was the
very first medal I ever received.
In 12th grade, the most memorable thing that happened to me was joining the Men's
Volleyball Team at San Juan Baño High School to represent the school. We had several weeks of
training, and many fun things happened. When we fought, I was extremely nervous because our
opponents were very strong, and we lost twice, so we didn't have any more matches left. The last
one was when I joined journalism to represent my school, but I failed to even get 10th place.
Despite all that, I am happy because I represented my school even though we didn't win
anything.
In my last year here and with my days at this school numbered, my studies at San Juan Baño
High School will become my best memories. I will make the most of my last day here, and when
I get to college, I will proudly tell others about this school because I have learned so much here,
especially from the teachers I had.
