Types of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) License
The licence is divided broadly between Mechanical and Avionic trade disciplines.
These reflect different levels of task complexity and are supported by different
standards of experience and knowledge. An individual may hold a combination
of licence categories.

The categories within the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering licence are:

Category A : Maintenance Certifying Mechanic
Category B1 : Maintenance Certifying Engineer (Mechanical)
Category B2 : Maintenance Certifying Engineer (Avionics)
Category C : Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer

SCOPE

Based on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in the next 20 years,
airlines will have to add 25,000 new aircraft to the current 17,000-strong
commercial fleet. By 2026, the industry will need 480,000 new technicians to
maintain these aircraft.

VISAS :

Laws in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) require all non-national students to obtain a
Student Visa for the duration of their studies. Vision concept Aviation Training
Institute provides students visas for applicants studying in any of our academic
programmes.

Student visas are issued for the duration of 12 months at a time for the charge of
$1500; hence a student may require 2 or 3 renewals during their course of study at
VCATI.
The procedure for applying for a Student Visa cannot commence until you have
accepted your Offer of Admission, cleared all academic conditions (if any) and
paid your tuition fees along with the Student Visa Charges outlined below. The
process normally takes 15-20 days; applications typically undergo a security check
by UAE government authorities. You are advised to apply as early as possible if you
require a Student Visa.
