HCl Standardization Experiment

The document outlines an experiment for the standardization of hydrochloric acid (HCl) using sodium carbonate (Na2CO3). It details the chemical equations involved, the procedure for titration, and the calculations required to determine the normality of HCl. The endpoint of the titration is indicated by a color change from yellow to orange.

Experiment 1
Standardization of Hydrochloric acid (HCl) by Sodium Carbonate
(Na2CO3) (0.1 N)

Equation:

HCl + Na 2CO 3 NaHCO3 + NaCl

am
HCl + NaHCO3 NaCl + CO 2 H 2O
