To graduate, a student must take at least 30 of their last 60 credits at West Chester University. In addition, a student must take at least 50% of the
courses in their major or minor discipline (excluding cognate courses) at West Chester University. For active-duty service members, the academic
residency requirements will not exceed 25% of the undergraduate degree program. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to graduate.

1 The B.S. in International Business encourages the completion of any one of the complementary, interdisciplinary minors listed on back of this form.
2 Course requires “C” or better. If not, repeat course until a grade of “C” or better is earned. Five course repeats is the limit; a single course may not be repeated more
than twice.
3 Business majors require 6 math credits. A “C” or better in MAT 113, MAT 115, or MAT 131 and a “D-“ or better in MAT 143, MAT 161, or MAT 162.
4 Using ACC 300 or PSC 318 to fulfill -I- requirement transforms a business elective into a minor/free elective.
5 A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to register for 300- or 400-level business courses.
6 Business Electives include 300/400 level courses in ACC, BLA, ECO, FIN, INB, MIS, MGT, or MKT. In addition, ECH380, EFR401, ENG371 -W-, ENG375 -W-, GEO325,

Distributive Requirements:
The Arts (3 credits): Select one art course from one of the following areas: Art, Cinematography, Dance, Music, Photography,
and Theatre. Recommended Courses: ARH 101 or 104; ART 106, 111, 228, or 231; DAN 132, 133, 134, 135, 136, 137, or 150;
FLM 200; MHL 121, 125, 210; MTC 110; THA 101 or 103.

Behavioral and Social Sciences (9 credits): GEO 101, ECO 111, ECO 112, PSC 213 are required.
Humanities (6 credits): PHI 180 is required and History 100 or History 101 is required.
Science (6 credits): Select two additional courses from the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth

Additional Baccalaureate Requirements


Ethics (3 credits) PHI 180 is required -E-. An Ethics designation may only transfer into WCU if the course from a student's prior
institution has been submitted to and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Curriculum and Academic Policies Council
(CAPC).
Speaking Emphasis (3-9 semester hours) All students who take their entire general education program at WCU must
complete three approved speaking emphasis -S-courses with one at the 300-400 level.

Writing Emphasis (3 to 9 credit hours) -W-: Students who take their entire general education at WCU and transfers who
enter with fewer than 40 credits must complete three writing emphasis courses (9 credit hours). Students who transfer with
40 to 70 credits must take two writing emphasis courses (6 credits). Students who transfer with more than 70 credits must
take one writing emphasis course (3 credits). WRT 120 and the WRT elective do not count as writing emphasis courses. Each
writing emphasis course may simultaneously fulfill another degree requirement.
