SECTION A (30 MARKS)

(b) Describe attribute used by beef cattle farmers to characterize their business.

(c) Explain reasons why pastoralists in Kenya prefer to keep small East goats as
compared to exotic dairy goats. [2 marks]

(d) Explain why performance of flock of a sheep farmer is so much dependent on the ram
he is using for mating. [2 marks]

(e) Explain reasons why pastoral communities in Kenya prefer to keep small East Zebu
cattle. [2 marks]

3. (a) Explain how an animal breeder would differentiate Sahiwal and Charlois cattle breed.
