Writing Task: My Unusual Timeline

Objective:

Write a creative narrative text using both Present Perfect and Past Perfect tenses. You will share

five key moments from your life - mixing real and imaginary experiences!

Instructions:

Create a text titled "My Unusual Timeline" and describe five important or memorable moments in

your life. For each moment:

- Use at least ONE sentence with the Present Perfect.

- Use at least ONE sentence with the Past Perfect to describe what had happened before.

Suggested Structure:

1. Introduction - Who you are and what you enjoy doing.

2. Moment 1 - A special trip or experience

e.g. "I have visited Machu Picchu. I had never seen anything like it before."

3. Moment 2 - A memory from childhood

e.g. "By the time I started school, I had already learned to read."

4. Moment 3 - A professional challenge or achievement

e.g. "I've worked in different countries. Before moving to Berlin, I had completed a big project."

5. Moment 4 - A cultural discovery (film, book, music, course)


e.g. "I have watched all of Hitchcock's movies. I hadn't appreciated thrillers until then."

6. Moment 5 - A reflection on what you've learned in life

e.g. "I've learned to appreciate small things. I had always chased big goals before."

7. Conclusion - How these moments have shaped who you are today.

Tips:

- Mix facts and fiction to make your story more fun!

- Use time connectors: before, after, by the time, since, already, just, ever, never.

- Use your notes and dictionary to add vocabulary.
