Basics
Eligibility: Only individuals scoring above 90% in the assessment
and PKT will be eligible to work on this project.
Role: Eligible participants will be designated as moderators.
Time Commitment: The project requires 8 hours of work daily.
Shift Timings:
Shift 1: 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM
Shift 2: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Shift 3: 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Flexibility is required, as shifts will be rotational.
Guideline Mastery: Moderators must fully understand and adhere
to the guidelines.
Accuracy Expectations: While 100% accuracy is not expected
initially, repeated mistakes without improvement will lead to
retraining, and potentially, hold or termination.
Importance of the Role: The project is critical and requires full
mental and physical attention. Missteps due to lack of focus can
result in losing the opportunity to continue as a moderator.
Attention to Detail: Moderators must thoroughly review content,
including both written and audio components, before taking
action. Actions should be based strictly on the guidelines, not
personal perspectives.

1. WEAPONS
(i) Sale, purchase, or any transactional behavior with respect to
guns, weapons, or related products such as ammunition – Discard.
(ii) Minors showcasing/holding weapons should be
[Link], skills shown with swords, etc as a part of
martial arts is safe.
2. ALCOHOL
(i) Promotion of the direct sale of alcohol to consumers (for example, alcohol
home delivery) – Discard.
(ii) Alcohol-related content targeted at minors – Discard
(iii) Minors smoking or consuming alcohol (acting/performing by
minors with holding alcohol bottle/cigaratte, tobacco is discard but
doing gesture of smoking, tobacco rubbing without actual product is
fine) – Discard.
(iv) Ads in relation to alcohol are subject to state-wise guidelines.-

(v) Chillam, Vape, e-cigarettes, Normal Cigarettes, Alcohol, and Hukkah
are only safe when an adult is consuming them. Discard for Minors.
3. TOBACCO/ DRUGS
(i) Videos promoting the sale of handroll cigarettes – Discard.
(ii) Sale, purchase, or any transactional behaviour with respect to
ganja, drugs, weed, Satta, Matka, illegal substances – Discard.
4. ABUSIVE/PROFANE LANGUAGE
(i) Abuses used for humor/double-meaning jokes and in
performances/concerts/stand-ups are adult approved unless the abuse is
specifically/deliberately targeted at individuals or communities, including
but not limited to LGBTQ, Dalits, Muslims, Hindus, or on the basis of religion,
race, ethnicity, gender. This type of deliberate abuse is done without context –
Discard.
(ii) Hate speech against individuals or communities, including but not limited
to LGBTQ, Dalits, Muslims, Hindus, or based on religion, race, ethnicity, or
gender – Discard.
(iii) Please note that the following words should be marked as "Approve"
only if used by an adult- Chutiya, Kutta, Kamina, Harami, Sala, fuck, Randwa,

5. BLOOD/GORY AND VIOLENCE
(i) Representation of intense violence or blood – Discard.
(ii) Self-harm including suicide attempts, blood vomit, cuts on the body–
Discard.
(iii) If blood is not visible in accident-related content or visuals are
blurred/masked then it is fine as long as the content is not otherwise gory. –
Discard.
(iv) Violence/blood with respect to religious practices or in connection
with any religion (irrespective of whether the violence/blood is in
relation to a religious festival) – Discard. (v) Endorsing or committing
suicide – Discard.
(vi) Body parts disseminated during an accident (unless part of the news,
CCTV footage or discussion of the incident/crime with blurred visuals
are fine) – Discard.
(vii) CCTV footage of crime is fine. If such footage is NSFW, gory or
disturbing – Discard. (viii) Disturbing, violent, gory or NSFW
images/videos of human bodies – Discard (tattoo, skincare, piercing
videos are fine).
(ix) Images or videos showing rape or sexual assault (unless part of the
news or CCTV footage [not revealing name/place or pic of

(xi) Videos by acid attack survivors or videos by creators to generate
awareness about acid attacks are fine.

6. ANIMALS
(i) Images/videos showing animals suffering or being abused – Discard.
(ii) Animal rescue images/videos are generally fine. Such videos, when
disturbing, gory, or with blood – Discard.
(iii) Content depicting or suggesting sexual activity between
animals and humans or pornography showing such sexual activity –
Discard.
(iv) Raw Videos from Butcher shops are - Discarded
7. ORCHESTRA / STAGE DANCE
(i) Orchestra/stage dance which involves nudity, partial nudity, touching or
showing of private parts in the performance or is otherwise NSFW –
Discard.
(ii) Pole dance or lap dance in sexual manner and with nudity –
Discard.
(iii) Any dance performance, on stage or otherwise, showing any
of the following: ❖ Sexual misconduct or sexual manhandling of
the performer;
❖ Sexually suggestive activities or an implicit depiction of such
activities between the performers
❖ Display of nudity, sexual misconduct or sexual manhandling in
the audience – Discard.
8. HATE SPEECH/POLITICAL CONTENT
(i) Content that involves hate speech or might spread misinformation
against any nation – Discard.[In case of doubts, please contact to

(ii)Content which shows burning or defacement of the Indian flag,
Ashoka Chakra – Discard.
(iii) Maps which show India without all of its constituent parts (for
example, a map which shows some Indian territory as being part of
neighbouring countries) – Discard.
9. BULLYING/ HARASSMENT
(i) Body shaming (such as for being too fat or thin, or calling attention to a
person’s body with the intent of shaming them) – Discard.
(ii) Scolding, swearing, cursing without context– Discard.
10. SEXUAL CONTENT
(1) Intense kissing – Discard.
(2) Pornographic content or content where any sexual organ (penis, testicles,
breasts, female nipples, vagina, pubic hair, buttock, Even a slight buttline
visibility will go for discard for any age) is visible (includes nudity or visibility
through transparent/semi-transparent clothing) – Discard.
(3) Sexual organs are not visible (i.e. no nudity) but the content is focused
on sexual organs (breasts, nipples, vagina, pubic hair, buttock) and the
content looks non-consensual – Discard.
(4) Images/videos showing body art, and also including visible sexual
organs – Discard.
(5) If the focal point of the video/image is the breast or private parts or the
intent is to promote nudity/sexual content – Discard. [This will require a

(6) Content of women with a sexual or derogatory caption or where the
subject of the image is represented in a sexual way and morphed– Discard.
For example, captions like the following are not permitted:

(11) Any kind of sex toy advertisement/exhibition – Discard.
(12) Images/Videos of lingerie or undergarments with derogatory captions
like “what is your bra size?” – Discard.
(13) Child nudity, content where children’s visible private parts/genitals
are the focus/visible – Discard.
(14) Child pornography – Discard.
(15) Twerking by minors –Discard if the creator visibly looks like a
minor/under

(11) NSFW HASHTAGS
(i) All generally used and known NSFW hashtags like #sex+sex #Porn
#boobs or #call me for sex services & #Hot bhabhi/chut, #aunty lover
#bhabhi lover explicit emojis (if used with on content or as the caption in a
post) – Discard.
Mention of pornographic sites like xvideos, etc in captions or in the post
itself is discarded

in videos- Discard. - seeking donation/COVID-related help with bank
details is fine.
● Mobile no. sharing/asking: Discard if about any prohibited activity
(selling or dealing in drugs, prostitution, weapons, other illegal
materials).
● The mobile number mentioned in post captions OR in the video as the
purpose of delivering a call girl/promotion of gambling/abortion services
etc EG: Call me on XYZ1234 for abortion/sex chats/sex services and with
NSFW emojis for mentioned services shall be Discarded.
● Bait - Misleading content to gain likes and Shares.
(i) Content that asks to increase fake followers/get cheap chatroom coins,
get shared chat badges by paying such x amount or purchase share chat
profiles - Bait
(ii)Applies to content where individuals request likes and shares by emotionally
targeting viewers.
(iii)Involves appealing to emotions based on:
- Religion
- Patriotism
- Personal relationships
Examples include content asking for likes if:
- You love your father
If you truly love your mother
- You consider yourself a true Indian
Such emotionally manipulative content is classified as bait.
Silent Discard:
- Silent Discard: The term refers to scenarios where the content is not clear
enough to be marked as safe (Approve) and does not fall under any specific
"approveAdult," or "Discard" guidelines. Such content should be marked as
"Silent Discard."
Examples include:
Accident Content: If a video shows an accident where the impact is severe but
there is no visible bloodshed, it cannot be marked as "Discard" but also should
not be approved due to the high severity of the accident. Such content should be
marked as "Silent Discard."
Unclear Content: If the content is not clear enough to be approved and does not
meet any specific guidelines for being marked as "Ad" or "Discard," it should be
marked as "Silent Discard."
OTT Content: Any content from OTT platforms like series, movies, or serials that
depict violence, brutality, murder, blood, gore, deadbody , or disturbing scenes
should always be marked as "Silent Discard" instead of "Discard" or "Approve,"
as these are considered OTT content.
Content Promoting Money or Prizes: Videos that show a lot of money or coins
and promise rewards for contacting the creator or sharing the content should be
clearly marked as "Silent Discard."
- This category applies to content that shows an accident but does not reveal
what happens afterward, leaving it unclear whether the person involved survived.
Such cases should be marked as "Silent Discard."
- This category applies to movie scenes that involve significant bloodshed. These
scenes should be marked under "Silent Discard."
Approve Adult:
● Content that has high cleavage/skin exposure and visibility with
intense kissing/Adult/Double meaning jokes/NSFW
gestures(masturbation/lip-locking/lip biting/seducing etc.) falls in the
Approve Adult (18+Pass) criteria
● If the content is not focused sexually on private parts, represented in a funny
and light sense/humor - Approve Adult [This will require a contextual call by the
moderator. In case of doubts, please contact ShareChat Team]
● A performance like a normal belly dance/twerking is fine but with exotic attire
performance [Contextual cases] Approve Adult until it’s not NSFW or having
sexual gestures/touching private parts/nudity etc. [This will require a contextual

4. Blood visibility in accidents/endorsing or to commit suicide in videos-

5. CCTV footage of any crime should be fine until it’s not nsfw/gory/disturbing.
6. CCTV footage of funny events/circumstances/recordings is fine.
7. Animal suffering/abuse (Discard). - Animal rescue videos’ are fine
until it’s not disturbing/Blood/Gory.
8. Videos endorsing selling/purchase of Handroll
cigarette/cigarettes/Hookah/Vape/Smoking/Chillam if in Minors hand inhaling not
inhaling should be Discard.
9. Alcohol Bottle in Minor hand Consuming /Not Consuming - Discard
10. Minor acting with Alcohol Bottle - Discard

● What is Broken Links:-
- Broken Links are those posts that do not play
completely, after 3-5 sec it stops or only half of the
complete video is playing.
- For these contents, the action will be
SilentDiscard(SD)
- After marking the action as SD it is mandatory to fill
out the Broken Link form if the moderator fails to fill
the Form and later the post comes as any ZT case
then strict actions will be taken against the defaulter.
