In the era of technological advancements, mass media play a significant role in our society as it has a
great deal of different information for people. The professional journalists work for various purposes to
deliver the latest and the most sensational news about political, social or economic issues. Nowadays, the
hot topic of celebrities and their personal lives is an interest to many people. That’s why they become the
“prey” of news-hunting journalist and spread quickly on social networks. Therefore, I would like to
examine the statement for the following reason.
To begin with, I fully agree with the title of this statement and I consider it as the real challenge in
modern society. People are using many contemporary gadgets these days which give them a wide range
of their idol’s private information. Stemming from that the fans of these celebs desire to obtain more
details about their idols such as love life, hobbies and their past. Subsequently, in order to grabbing the
attention of readers, public media ought to catch the trends and provide breaking news to their users
regardless of ethical factors or sometimes there are increasingly too much invasion of privacy on
celebrities. Celebrities have to face the lack of privacy in their life, they are often followed by
photographers who try to take photos of their private moments. For instance, a typical example which
caught a lot of attention from their followers Jungkook (BTS). The photographer tried to follow Jungkook
to take photo if he went out with someone, but Jungkook just went to convenience store to buy banana
milk. Even though there is nothing about Jungkook’s love life, their fans and paparazzi still stalked their
personal lives and gossiped about his relationships which should not be discussed.
On the other hand, some magazines and newspaper spend a wide range of resources to estimate the
income of well-known superstars. To be more specific, the boy band BTS was the target of public data
which reported their enterprise’s annual profits. The audience is disquiet over the income of celebrities
and other famous people earn, the clothes they wear, the cars they drive and homes they live in and so on.
Or if they do something wrong, they will become the target of criticism. Additionally, they might be
disturbed by phone and email of haters or other people, which makes them feel stressed. Therefore, it
seems to me that media should stop their attempts to conquer people via their powerful sources of
information, eliminate the unnecessary ideas of getting involved in much into public people’s personal
relationship.
All things considered, I would like to state that the exposure to personal lives and the income figures of
famous people are all forms of information as it is considered an appropriate approach for news to attract
their readers. However, it is advisable that media viewers should respect and empathize with celebrities
and put their words into consideration since their comments enable hurt their idols.
