Load Securing
l
EN 12195-1 Inadequate load securing often results in the loss of loads, such as for example squared lumber, fridges, paper rolls and steel sheet, on the roads, resulting in delays and, at worst, accidents.

Consumer products Environmental awerness
Alternative materials l Green polymers l Ameliorating existing packaging materials
There is a growing demand for plastics with high barrier properties, especially for applications in the packaging industry. Such plastics are used to protect the contents of the packaging against external influences, such as contamination by oxygen or water vapour, or against a loss of ingredients (e. g. flavors).

Impact shelflife prolongation, traceability : l Active packaging
l
This consists of a matrix polymer, such as PET, an oxygen scavenging/absorbing component and a catalyst. Active food packaging systems using oxygen scavenging and anti-microbial technologies (e.g. sorbate-releasing LDPE film for cheese) have the potential to extend the shelf-life of perishable foods while at the same time improving their quality by reducing the need for additives and preservatives.
