DEED OF ADOPTION

This DEED OF ADOPTION made on the -------------- day of ------

Hereinafter called “the Giver/ Mother ” of the First Part

IN FAVOUR OF

Hereinafter called “the Recipient/ Adoptive Father ” of the


Other Part .

WHEREAS

a. The Giver and Recipient are Hindus and hence governed by the
provisions of Hindu Law.

b. The Giver herein is a widow of late Mr. ------------------. During


the legal wedlock of the Giver with the said late Mr. -------- a
female child was born on ---------- who is named as
---------------------.

c. After the death of Mr. -------------------, the Giver herein married


to the Recipient herein, who was then divorcee. The recipient
has a son by name Mr. ---------------- from his divorced wife now
known as Ms. ---------------------.

d. The minor female child of the Giver is now --- years of age,
whereas the Recipient is of ------ years of age, thus there is a
difference of 21 years between the both of them.

e. The Giver and the Recipient are residing together as husband
and wife. The Recipient is looking after welfare of the child
since the date of his marriage with Giver. The Giver has a
confidence that the Recipient will lookafter her minor daughter
and hence in the welfare of the minor child and to give her a
proper status qua her step father i.e the Recipient herein as
his daughter, the giver has decided to give in adoption Miss.
---------------- to the Recipient.

f. The usual ceremony as to Dattak Hom and physical delivery of


the child and the ceremonial gift as to the taking the boy were
performed on the ------ day of --------- in presence of several
persons, including those who are attesting witnesses.

g. Ever since the said adoption, the said minor daughter has been
to all intents and purposes, a member of the family of the
Recipient

NOW THIS DEED WITNESSES the said Giver i.e the Natural Mother
did before a family and gathering of friends and relation at
“----------------------------------------------- give her minor daughter named
------------------------, age about -------years, to the said Recipient i.e
Adoptive Father, who by Hindu Rites did before the same gathering
and take the said daughter in Adoption as his Adoptive Daughter on
the day first hereinabove mentioned AND that the Adoptive
Daughter immediately after the adoption is renamed by Adoptive
Father as --------------------Sawant.

AND That the Adopted Daughter by said adoption has become


daughter of the Adoptive Father for all legal and religious purpose
natural born Daughter in the family of her Adoptive Father.

IT IS FURTHER DECLARED that first marriage between Adoptive


father and his divorced wife Mrs. --------- is dissolved on -------------
and natural father of adopted daughter Mr. -----------------------is not
alive, so their consent was not required.

Three of the persons who are present on the said occasion have
signed this Deed as attesting witnesses to the signature of the
parties.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF the said Mr. ---------------------Sawant ,


Adoptive Father and the said Mrs. ------------------------ Sawant , the
natural mother have hereinto set their respective hands before the
said gathering, present two of whom have at the request of the
parties and in their presents signed as witnesses the day and the
