## Characters

**Julian Fairhaven** Old Man Fairhaven, an old wizard who first lost his spellbook and then his mind,
now a sad and slightly mad beggar

**Clara Greenbloom** Tavern owner, sweet but nervous, brave only in matters of coin

**Flynn Thistledown** Thieves Guild higher up, pseudo aussie drunken monk who works as tavern
security for free drinks

**Zephyra Silverstrings** bard playing at the tavern, pretends to be a full elf

## Strong Start

Let players describe themselves and settle. The door slams open, and as the bard stops playing for a
moment, the whole tavern seems to grind to a stop. You all see a hunched old man hobble in, clutching a
staff. Roll a 1d5. He turns to Gwen, raising a shaky hand and saying "YOU! WANDERER! I know what you
ARE"

Old Man Fairhaven then accuses her of having stolen from him and threatens to call the guards.

Roll for perception, DC 10, to see Clara nodding at Flynn Thistledown.

A halfling man, previously slumped over the bar presumably drunk, hops out of his chair and calls out.
"Oi! Old man! What did we say last time about calling the guards?" As he crosses the room patrons lean
out of his way, those not quick enough receiving a sharp elbow or push. One of the pushed men shouts,
standing up, his head brushing the ceiling before making eye contact with the forceful halfling. The large
man's ruddy face blanches, and he sits back down.

Vera knows Flynn, he's been working on teaching her halfling while convincing her to join the Thieve's
Guild
