CIA-I: Research Problem Statement

Assignment Submission Date: 20th December 2024

Assessment Description:
Group of students are expected to prepare a problem statement from the perspective of your
interesting research topic by going through different research related resources and reviewing
literature. Further you are expected to prepare a rough draft of a proposal of your interesting
research topic, this shall include background of research, need of the study, methods, tools
and references.
● Group of students will work on Problem statement submission- 15
marks
● In-class activity, feedback, Team Involvement, and evaluation of
rough draft of proposal writing- 10 marks

Learning outcomes:

This would enable them to understand the basic concepts of research and the process of it and
hands-on-experience of analyzing various research articles. It will also make them understand
the process of administer psychological scales to a group of samples, make interpretations
and draw conclusions based on the norms given in the manual as well as different research
articles develop their reflexive skills.

Assessment Requirements:

1. Soft copy of problem statement including proposal on LMS


2. APA format
3. The rough proposal should provide information on all required aspects.

Evaluation Criteria:
Problem Statement: (15 marks)
● Clarity on problem statement (5 marks)
● Relevance of Literature Review (5 marks)
● Identification of Gaps (5 marks)

Rough draft of Research Proposal (10 marks)


● Logical flow of information with proposal format (2 marks)
● Rigour and feasibility of research methodology (2 marks)
● Adequacy of ethical considerations (2 marks)
● APA format - spacing, alignment, references (2 marks)
● Interaction during work assigned hours with supervisor for idea development (2
marks)
