My earliest knowledge of business management came from watching my mother run
a convenient store. From such a young age, I had developed an affinity for business
because I was born into it. After High school, I enrolled for a degree program in
Business Administration and Management and was awarded Bachelor of Science.
During my undergraduate studies, I was introduced to financial Accounting,
rudiments of Management, Economics, Information and Communication Technology,
Introduction to Industrial Relations, Basic Business Mathematics, Cost Accounting,
Business Law, Economics of Banking Operations, Production Management, Marketing
Research Entrepreneurial Development etc. With this, I was driven to enrol for
Masters of Management at your prestigious University in the United Kingdom.
The (School) teaches the fundamental skills and attributes needed for becoming a
successful International manager. I will be equipped with lessons in strategic and
tactical business decision making, understanding International cultural differences
while managing and motivating staff in business on an international scale. At UCLan, I
will also experience working in internationally diverse student team based projects
collaborating to deliver effective and professional reports and presentations as part
of international management.
I have always wanted to study in a safe and secure environment and a master’s of
Research from UCLan will provide me with an international advantage in that
regards.
University of Central Lancashire provides world class learning environment,
experienced and up to date lecturers and well as state of the art learning facilities. I
had previously considered Griffith University in Australia but the distance to my
home country as well as cost and duration of the programme is longer and much
more expensive. I have also searched for schools in the United States of America but
high tuition fees and duration of program have been a huge negating factor. I had
also given thought to other schools in the United Kingdom but i have settled for
UCLan as it is more affordable for me. And the course offered here is more of a fit for
my career.
As a postgraduate student, I choose the United Kingdom as the country of study
because I have always admired the long standing tradition, religion and policies as
well as superior standard of living, advanced and robust transportation network and
one of the best education systems in the world.
I understand the cost of investment including accommodation, feeding,
transportation and I am prepared for this, considering the fact that the return on
investment (ROI) is higher in comparison to what am investing into my education
upon completion. So this degree will help me to move up the ladder in my career.
For more than 5years, I worked with Airtel Networks limited where I functioned as a
Market Developer (M.D). I was saddled with the responsibility of supervising sales
agents in the field, enlightening the customers about the company’s products and
services as well as its usages, bringing customers complaints and dissatisfaction back
to the company and giving them back solutions.
I am a versatile and hard working lady. Who is reliable and with excellent character.
I’m eager to learn new skills in a working and fast paced environment and I always
bring positive energy to the team.
I look forward to furthering my knowledge and passion for business management by
undertaking a Masters of Research in Management. I also look forward to
experiencing all the opportunities the United Kingdom and the University of Central
Lancashire has to offer.
At the completion of my masters program, I intend to pursue a doctorate degree in
Management as a progressive Education will give me a greater advantage
internationally and will be much more recognisable when I return to my home
country Nigeria.
